Stay was comfortable It's a heritage bunglow with fantastic aesthetic. The owner was extremely well behaved and accommodative. The breakfast was good. We took a family room. It was extremely large for us. Great view from the premises. Walking distance from Gregory lake. Overall great experience.

This was an absolutely brilliant stay. The house is in a very quiet location. The room we had was huge, spacious and very comfortable. The host was very friendly, and made us a great breakfast to take away when we left early in the morning. We wanted to go out for dinner and it was raining, and the host very kindly insisted to take us to a restaurant and get us back to the property in his van.

I really wanted a quiet getaway to both work and relax, and Shirin 1892 exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was quite delicious, nutritious, and thoughtfully prepared. The owner, Mr. Asela Ariyarathne was attentive to every detail, and the rest of the staff were a delight, too. Shirin 1892 is one of the safest spaces for a stay over for especially a solo traveller and the same applies to those who travel in groups. Highly recommended without any reservation.

A very friendly and kind host who gives a lift from his house to the main road and his excellent Srilankan breakfast which was a 10/10. Very spacious twin rooms with comfortable couches, comfortable beds, the ancient vibe of the property

Spacious, location close enough to town to walk and also close to Gregory Lake. History of the property, owners very friendly and helpful- even dropped us at a restaurant and another day start of Pekoe Trail.

Absolutely amazing house! Every detail has a history. Cosy and warm bed, antique furniture, beautiful vintage decor and chandeliers- just wow. Live flowers in wases, super clean and white towels, Victorian carpets on bedroom floor. The owner was very nice and has lightened a fireplace for us. And what a delicious breakfast we had! I loved my stay up to 1mln %

Asela is the best host you can get! Nothing is too much for him and he went out of his way to assist and help in the situation we were, due to the flooding and the disastrous weather we experienced. It was pleasure meeting him and his family. Highly recommend him as your potential future host!

The location is very good -- there are cafes and supermarket near the house. The host is friendly, he told us an interesting story about a house. Breakfast was tasty. The room was good, but hot water was strange: it was too hot or too cold. There is a Pizza Hut in 3 minutes walking, we had dinner there..

The old style bungalow matches the colonial character of Nuwaraeliya. The room size was huge with sitting space. There was a shared kitchen with a microwave and kettle. We had a great time with our host. Unfortunately, we couldn't make use of the great location of the homestay as it was raining too much. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my stay and I consider it a value for money.

A very charming house, with a special story and charm. Wonderful hospitality, with lots of attention and care. They helped us with everything we asked for. We enjoyed staying with them a couple of times while we were in the area. Highly recommended

Large rooms. Very friendly host. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money. Awareness: Not luxurious, but spacious and clean. Good hot water in bath, but wash basin was freezing cold water. An area looking like bath tub, but was narrow, so had to bathe outside it. The approach road to main road, is a bit raw and it's dark at night, not safe to walk. If you have own vehicle, great, else host is very kind to offer a drop and pickup to restaurant for dinner. Host Mr Asela also offers free pickup from bus/rail Overall, with slight adjustments, perfect homestay. I would rate 9/10
