We stayed here for 4 nights ,we had great experience, host were very very humble and helpful breakfast was one of the best we ate in Shrilanka and they had made my son's favourite dish everyday. All 4 days we had different menu for breakfast, rooms were beautiful and clean ,superb view , Thank you Bandara Sir and Milith Sir, for making our stay pleasant and memorable.

Everything is good , the view , the loaction is amazing Very clean and good value for money . The owner is very kind and sweet . Helped us a lot . He also prepared food the way we liked . Only thing is there are snakes near to the property , you need to be careful

“A great small independent guest house”

We spent a lovely couple of nights at Melford. The room was spacious and clean with a view out over a beautifully maintained garden towards Gregory Lake. The breakfasts were outstanding and delicious though way more food than we could eat! The location is a little out of town, on a quiet street but easy to get a tuk-tuk into the centre or a longer walk around the lake. The owner and staff we met were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. If you like to stay in smaller privately run guesthouses then I'd have no hesitation recommending Melford Nuwaraeliya.

The location is great, just few minutes from the Lake Gregory..The room has vintage decor and its very spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast spread is awesome and they make some of the best milk tea 😁 the owner is very helpful, accomodating and great person to talk to.

We stayed in Melford Nuwaraeliya only for 1 night. Perfect accomodation, great location and views, excellent breakfast! The room has comfortable beds. Bandara was very kind, upgraded our room, gave some instructions and information about nearest sightseeing and restaurants. We are really enjoyed. Highly recommend! Bandara, wish you all the best!

We stayed 2 nights at Melford Nuwara Eliya and it was an absolutely perfect experience. The host is incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely focused on making guests feel comfortable and well taken care of. When I mentioned that my girlfriend and I are athletes and asked if they could boil eggs for us (we provided the eggs), they went far beyond our expectations. They boiled 15 eggs every morning and every night for both days, completely free of charge — and on top of that, they customized our included breakfast to be more fitness and sport friendly. Our breakfasts were amazing: lots of fresh and boiled vegetables, avocados, and delicious traditional Sri Lankan dishes prepared with less oil, which we really appreciated. It was thoughtful, healthy, and delicious — something very rare to find while traveling. The hospitality here is truly outstanding. You can feel that the host genuinely cares about your well-being, not just about providing a place to sleep. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya — especially athletes or travelers who value health, kindness, and personal attention. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

The staff was extremely hospitable — they were very welcoming from the moment we arrived. It was my friend's birthday, and I had requested a cake to be arranged. They handled it perfectly, making our celebration feel special. The venue itself is beautiful, situated right by the lake, which made the atmosphere relaxing and scenic. Their attention to detail and genuine care truly set them apart. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend visiting if you’re looking for great service and stunning views

Super super friendly host who will do a lot to make you feel like at home. He gave us a lot of recommendations from activities over transport to restaurants. Had a great time. Also very beautiful garden and nice house. It is sometimes a bit damp but that’s just the climate.
