The hosts were incredibly friendly and caring, with great communication. We had to change our travel plans mid trip and they made sure the changes to our vacation was effortless and genuinely enjoyable. We would definitely recommend!

“Definitely stay here it was great”

The hotel is in a gorgeous house at the top of the hill with views all around. The room was very clean, warm and cozy. The bathroom was large and the bed comfy! I loved the common areas, there is about 4 different places to sit with chairs, sofas and tables with a view. You can also use the kitchen and Madu did some light washing for us. He was an amazing host, had some great chats, helped us with advice on what to do in Nuwara Eliya and made sure we had a heater etc in the room. He stays in the hotel full time to help out whenever you need and on WhatsApp but you definitely have your own space. It is only 5 minutes to town and Pickme works great otherwise. Lots of stuff to do in N.E and the weather is nice and cool.

“Beautiful place close to the city center”

Most beautiful house I stayed in all over Sri Lanka. Its very clean, smells good and has everything you need and beyond. Madusanka, is a friendly host, who helped us with everything. 10/10 would recommend this.

“Thank you very much Madu!”

It is located outside the confusion (very quiet) of the centre but still near 5 min by tuk tuk or 15 walking. Although to be honest I did only twice because it is uphill.. It is a british style house covered with wood everywhere which makes it warm and welcoming. Then there is Madu who is taking care of everything and of you. He is always available to give advices about excursions, transfers, exchange, restaurants.. I followed what he suggested to me and it was perfect! He even made my laundry for free. And because the only problem is that there is no breakfast he arranged me every morning a cup of coffee and he was waking up to prepare it for me. Then last but not least the toilettes are completely new, so this is the first place where the shower was really hot and wigh a strong pressure.

“Wonderful stay”

We stayed here for two nights. The room, beds, and shower were very comfortable. Our host Madusanka was very friendly and they helped us with our laundry. There are several nice restaurants nearby. Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel! I really enjoyed my stay here. The building is truly beautiful and very well maintained. The common spaces feel like you are in a fairytale!

Even though we didn’t spend much time in Nuwara Eliya, we really enjoyed our stay at Madusanka’s homestay. The place was very clean and comfortable, and we felt at home. Madusanka was very kind and helpful, always polite and friendly, and he made sure everything we needed was taken care of. He even arranged a car for our journey the next day, which helped us a lot. We wish we could have stayed longer. If we come back again, we will definitely book this place without thinking twice✨

Very clean & pretty rooms. Nice view. Fully equipped kitchen with drinking water facility! We could also use the washing machine free of cost to wash our clothes. Super helpful staff!

“Charming host, beautiful architecture and decor, a short walk from the noise and pollution of the centre of town”

A beautiful former home that was designed 50 years ago and has great architectural interest with ornate woodwork. We loved that the style had been maintained. Madu is a charming manager and helped with transport, set up table tennis and gave the hotel a calm vibe

“Great stay in Nuwara Eliya”

It was an amazing, old english house with original and well preserved decor. We were very pleasantly surprised with how it looked like, and had a great stay, especially considering how little we paid.

Is was a very cosy place and the manager was really nice and helpful, they also provide room heaters if you get cold at night. There is also parking

“Adorable and unique guest house”

We had such a great time at Magnolia Hideout. The house is incredible, we felt right at home and were very sad to leave. Big up to Manu, the best host ever, very kind and welcoming. The house is very clean and cozy, and the decoration is really cute. The hot shower was great. We will definitely come back to Nuwara Eliya, and there’s no way we would stay anywhere else

“A beautiful welcoming place”

Great location 10 minutes walk from Ella railway station, there is a short cut along railway line before joing waterfall road near the property. The host Jaya is so kind, attentive and helpful, we had a good laugh with him. Spectacular views, peicefull place amounst the mango and jack fruit trees. Breakfast served on our patio, watchi g birds, squirrels and monkies in the trees and view acroos the valley towards Adams peak.

A highly recommended stay! We stayed at this hotel in Nuwara Eliya for two nights and were thoroughly impressed. The location is ideal – quiet, yet only about 10 minutes from the city. The rooms are beautifully furnished and clean, as is the entire house. We also particularly liked the fact that there are lounges and a kitchen available for guests to use – this creates a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. What made our stay special was the exceptional hospitality of the host, Madu. He was always attentive, regularly asked how we were doing, and helped us organize a great tour with a very friendly driver – that was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you very much for the wonderful time – we would come back anytime!

We had a great stay at Magnolia hideout: the rooms were really clean and the the house cozy. The manager of the house, Madu, was very friendly and made sure we had a great time in Nuwara Eliya.

The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Madhu is an amazing host and made us feel extremely welcome. I can highly recommend this place to anyone travelling to the region.

A beautiful stay in this incredibly well-decorated house. The staff were friendly and helpful. The house is located about 10 minutes from nearby restaurants. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the environment was very quiet.

Charming building with many antique accessories and furniture, it was beautiful. One if the highlight of our stay was this building. Everthing went smoothly. The location is bit out of center, but the town is small so it's not really a problem. They provided a heater which was very nice beacuse it got chilly in the evening. Highly recommende, great value!
