“Incredible Views”

We really enjoyed our stay at Floating Mountain Villa, Akila was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The views are incredible and we only wish we could have stayed longer. The food is also very good, and we were able to have breakfast and dinner on the balcony which was such a lovely experience with the views in the background.

A charming and romantic place, with beautiful views, without crowds of tourists. Very individual approach to the customer, more than professional service (compliments to Mr Akila). The only place that asks about food preferences and is ready to meet all wishes.

This was one of the most beautiful and welcoming hotels we have ever stayed at. Starting from the check-in and till the last minute of our stay, everything was perfect. Akila is the best hotel manager ever, he made our stay feel as home, we felt like we were visiting family house rather than staying at the hotel. The view is incredible, and you can watch birds and squirrels from the garden. The food was cooked by Akila himself, and this was the best food we had in Sri Lanka. Many activities to do around the hotel as well, Akila was very kind to take us on a guided hike tour with visiting a Hindu Temple. You can also visit Glenloch tea factory, which is a walking distance from the hotel, where you can experience tea plucking. If we ever come back to Sri Lanka, it will be just for visiting this amazing place again.

Big compliment to Akila, he was the best!!! i would visit this place again because of him. our child loved him, he did everything that we feel at home the place wouldn't be the same without Akila Villa, Pool, Food and co was super, we stayed for 4 nights and relaxed a lot and enjoyed it

“Exceptional”

Floating mountain has 5 well appointed rooms. It is about 20 kms away from Nuwara Eliya so it’s away from the hustle and bustle of a big city. It is was earlier a part of the Glenloch tea estate. Akila the manager is extremely helpful and is always present to make your stay comfortable. Gowri the owner was present when we were there and took us for a guided walk up the mountain. Neat clean cosy rooms. We were looking for a beautiful resort away from the hustle and bustle of the town and nestled in the mountains. The last one km will require a 4 wheel drive vehicle that is provided by the resort. All in all a lovely experience and we will come again.

This property is stunning. Unfortunately, we had only booked to stay the one night at this property which was a big shame as we could have easily spent a lot longer here. A personal highlight of our stay was the morning breakfast which we had in the pool. The food was delicious and the views were breathtaking! The manager Akila couldn’t have been more welcoming and went out of his way to ensure we had a memorable stay. He even helped us for the remainder of our stay in Sri Lanka by providing recommendations on places to visit and supporting us with taxi bookings around the island! We would most certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting Sri Lanka and will be sure to return here again in the future (just for longer next time)!

We loved the views, the service and the ‘home away from home’ feel. The hotel manager was absolutely incredible and the best host we have had in Sri Lanka. Thanks for having us! Just note the accomodation is quite far away from Nuwara Eliya town, and is more of a remote getaway.

The breakfast was great we were able to enjoy both an English breakfast and a Sri Lankan breakfast. Able to set up our meals in front of our room facing the spectacular view of the Kothmale reservoir and the valley. The manager is very friendly and keeps the utmost hospitality at all times and helped us to plan our trip around the location. I was able to make travel arrangements through the manager. The lounge is beautiful and good for a group of friends to spend time with as well. The ala carte menu for dinner is fine and they provide more flexible options as well.

“Invited to a breathtaking view by a warm welcoming staff”

Everything about the villa was amazing. From the luxurious interior to the breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, dam and tea plantations, our experience here was wonderful and a much needed getaway in an extremely calm and serene place. We were hosted by the very warm and cheerful Akila and served delicious meals prepared by the talented in-house chef.

This place is in a beautiful location. It is approx midway between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy, but that is part of it's charm. The host, Akila is the very best host you could ever ask for. He really is exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble, very very accommodating, knowledgeable, polite, kind, calm and gentle. He really made this stay. In hindsight, we wish we stayed with Akila for longer! The food was incredible, you could (if you wanted to) have had breakfast in the pool on a floating tray!

Floating Mountain Villa is a very nice B&B experience near the tea plantations. The villa is very nice, very clean and homey. Akila, the manager, is so attentive and made the experience very special. The chef is also very nice and can make good dinners / breakfasts. The view over the mountains that we can see throughout the hotel is very beautiful and serene.

“Beautiful and relaxing”

The villa is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The view is second to none, from the rooms and the pool. We enjoyed swimming and playing pool. We ate breakfast and dinner there which was fantastic. What made our stay so special though was meeting Akila. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. He got in touch when we booked and arranged all of our transport for us. He was the most incredible host and such a lovely man. Our daughter loved him. And his knowledge of Sri Lanka is brilliant!

“Amazing Stay”

The villa is amazing .The view makes you want to take a deep breath . Akila the manager is wonderful host .He makes sure his guests are always comfortable. The hospitality was amazing thanks to Akila . The food is great Chef Shanta will do alternation if you requested. I felt safe as a solo female traveller. Do not hesitate to book with them .you will love the villa. I wish I was able to extend my but sadly I had to leave. The owner Ms.Gowri called me and made sure everything was fine with me .i really appreciate it.
