Very beautiful colonial building. Our room was spacious with views of the gardens. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious. The staff were welcoming and attentive, we were greeted with a pot of tea and home made biscuits on arrival. It was quite pricey, but the surroundings do offer more than just your bog standard accommodation.

The property is very charming. It is a colonial bungalow with a big lawn. Rooms are quite big with big washrooms. The feel of the place takes you back in time. It was one of our best stays in Sri Lanka in the hilly region.

Ferncliff Bungalow is such a charming place. It truly feels like stepping into a little piece of England in Sri Lanka. As soon as you enter the garden, you’re surrounded by a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Inside, everything is warmly decorated, with a cozy fireplace and a welcoming ambiance. We were greeted with warm tea and cookies, which immediately set the tone. The rooms are beautifully styled — very cozy, with a warm, wintery feel that makes you want to curl up and relax. It’s a wonderfully intimate and homely experience.

Spacious room in small hotel, which was once a colonial home. Hotel set in beautiful, large garden, located a short tuk tuk ride from town centre. Excellent meals, with very good menu - including scones and rhubarb crumble. Highly recommend.

We liked staying in a heritage building with all the antique furniture, old wall prints & general Colonial Era feeling . The staff were very friendly , helpful & gracious . The breakfasts were plentiful & delicious . The surrounding gardens were pleasant to stroll around .

This is a fantastic place! If you are looking for an authentic experience in a genuine colonial property, then look no further, you really won't be disappointed. The 'bungalows' are not stand-alone, as you might expect, but are actually separate areas of the large property which allows you to enjoy all of the communal areas and to interact with other guests, or simply find a quiet place to relax and unwind. The property manager, Bernard, was so helpful and was always on hand to ensure that everything was just right, even down to offering hot water bottles to us on the chilly nights. Not that the rooms were cold - the heating worked very well - but it was typical of the high levels of service that you can expect here. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was modern, with lots of hot water, and the WiFi worked well for us. The breakfasts were very tasty and the two dinners that we had there were both excellent.

The Ferncliff Bungalow is beautiful, and in the perfect location to explore Nuwara Eliya. The staff were lovely and the food (breakfasts and dinners) was excellent.

Fantastic hospitality in a wonderfully relaxed and historic villa. Our group, which ranged from 5 to 75, all had an amazing time at Ferncliff. Food was lovely, but it was the service and the atmosphere that was really spectacular. Special shout to Bernard for being such a wonderful host. And also a big mention for the hot water bottles!!
