We had some inconvenience from the arrival to the check out. They didn’t know a out the reservation, even if we paid it before the arrival, so we had problem during the check in. The people that work there are nice, but not everyone speak english. The sink in our room was broken. The breakfast was always the same with crêpes and two friend sausages. After the check out They wanted to take from us more money.

Imrani, the manager of the property was extremely nice and beyond understanding and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and hygienic.

“Not happy.”

This place it’s not like the photos. Since we arrived we didn’t feel comfortable, door knob was loose and they didn’t fix it. Grimy walls. Not enough towels, poor shower water. We found bedbugs, my whole body was stung, they didn’t want to recognise that they had bed bugs. We had to leave the hotel at midnight because they didn’t even want to change our room for one day. The new hotel we went told us bed bugs are a big problem in Africa and they have to take care of it and disinfect often.

Really appreciate the host’s kindness and flexibility with early check-in and late check-out during the low season. The location is great, just off the roadside and traveling by local bus (Dala dala) was a breeze. Highly recommend!

Everything! The host and staff are sooo nice. The host helped us with everything. Room was clean, breakfasts are delicious. Although the room is located in the heart of Nungwi village, we didn’t feel unsafe and it was a great experience to be so close to local Zanzibar people :) shops and pharmacies are close. Around 10-15 minutes walking distance to the beach, depending to which area of Nungwi Beach you want to go to. Highly recommend. Thank you for such an amazing stay ❤️

Breakfast was excellent! We had a choice each morning and always had wonderful fruit or fresh juices prepared. The room had air conditioning and a good WiFi connection, and it was cleaned every few days. Hosam, the host, was amazing. He showed us the shortcut to the beach and gave us a lot of useful information.

Cleanliness of the room Price is absolutely amazing, but what I loved the most was the outstanding customer service of the whole team. Maryam the cook was very kind and woke up earlier on days I had scheduled day trips. Most of all, Hosam at the reception is the best I interacted with and thanks to whom I’ll definitely be back at the same hotel. The man is “on a mission” as he worded it, he gets you whatever you need and right away. Thanks so much for everything, Hosam! 🙏🏽

“Raha house is a perfect accomodation for those seeking to reside in Nungwi”

The host was extremely helpful and kind to us during our stay. We visited Nungwi from South Africa and we also arrived very early in the morning around 3am and the host was ready to check us in and welcome us to Zanzibar. The rooms are so well equipped with everything you need. It is also a new development so rest assured that everything is clean. The beddings were all new and had such a lovely odor. There were also mosquito nets covering all windows as well as the bed itself. The breakfast was also very good and well worth it. The host even made arrangements for our breakfast to be made extra early since I had tours booked for the entire week. I really enjoyed my stay at Raha House and it is so close to all of the tourist attractions in Zanzibar making it an ideal spot for your stay. There are so many restaurants near to the hotel from a walking distance which made the location even more favorable. Nungwi beach is also a 5 minute walk away through an easy shortcut route that the host showed us. My friend also got some heat rash during his stay at Zanzibar and the host assisted so much in getting the correct medication. I will definitely stay at Raha House when I visit Zanzibar again. Thank you Awesome for making our stay a memorable one.

“Spacious and clean rooms!”

Recently refurbished property owned by a local family (they are very nice), Very recommended in order to support sustainable tourism!! The room, bathroom and communal areas are spacious with all what you need, very clean. Big mention to the breakfast which was very tasty, consisting of fresh fruit, coffee/tea/milk, water, crepes, scramble eggs with veggies and toast. And it is served until 11! The location is good as it is few minutes walking to the beach (ask in the reception how to get there) and you have bars and stores nearby. If you need taxi you just need to go in front of the door as they are passing constantly. Even if the guesthouse is by the main road, our room was quiet. Another plus is that they have private parking! And lastly, wifi works perfectly.
