If you want to stay somewhere that feels like home, this is the place. It feels very safe, the staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help with anything you need. The food is delicious, clean, and healthy. It’s also close to everything in the area.

“Best Host In Zanzibar”
The place is stunning, its a tree house vibe, its absolutely incredible. The staff are lovely, everything is so clean and well ordered. Room was comfortable, great showers and facilities. Really safe too!

I had a pleasant stay at Makofi Guest House. The rooms (comfy beds) and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Breakfast was nice and enjoyable. Clara and the other girls serving were kind, professional, and always welcoming. The rest of the staff were also very helpful. I also loved the little wooden signs placed almost everywhere ,such a charming touch that adds character to the place. I enjoyed my stay so much that I ended up adding two more nights haha. Overall, a lovely experience and a great place to stay. I would definitely recommend Makofi Guest House.

My children were in one room, and I was in another. They were thirsty during the night. The hotel doesn't provide bottled water in the room, and the staff refused to give them any; it costs $1 USD to refill a bottle at the water dispenser. The children went all night without water and had to wait for breakfast in the morning. I paid $400 USD for two days, and this policy is unacceptable.

“One of the best hostels so far”
I think one of the best hostels that I have been so far! The vibe and the atmosphere are excellent, staff and facilities super friendly. They also organise activities/boat tours for very convenient prices.

Would recommend anyone to stay here! Great location in the best part of the city, walking distance to everywhere and very helpful staff, booked the stone town tour through them and couldn’t recommend enough!
