“Best experience”

Had a wonderful stay at this Homeland swahili lodge in Nungwi Zanzibar. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the location was perfect for exploring the island. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Great value for money and highly recommended for anyone visiting Zanzibar!

The room was super spacious and very comfortable ,including the beds. The breakfast that is served is the best that i have come across so far in any stay. The hosts were very kind and talkative especially 'Crazy man'. The common seating area is very nice and relaxed. If you are coming to Nungwi on a budget is would 💯 recommend this place

Very nice and authentic atmosphere; the staff and host are very friendly; delicious and fresh fruit is a must for breakfast; there was always hot water; clean linens, air conditioners in the room; you will meet guests from all over the world; in the center of Nungwi, and close to Kendwa beach; affordable price; everything is like in the pictures and even more beautiful. Best recommendation for this accommodation.

Breakfast was very exceptional.bowl of fruits was a must and Dey served almost upto midday! The location was afew meters away from the beach. Overall it was very cheap with excellent service delivery.

Close to nungwi beach, Crazy is super helpful and kind, amazing breakfast 10/10

What an amazing place, love it and love the owner. He is wonderful guy with big heart. Unfortunally i could stay only 2 days but this place is to stay longer, excellent breakfast. I come definitly again and I 100% recommend this place

“Crazy in a good way!”

The owner is incredibly nice, funny and helpful! He helped us organise 2 activities and genuinely wanted us to have a good time and not be ripped off by locals. He offers free laundry. When we needed water he went out to get it for us at no extra cost. Thank you Shalaban/Balagan/crazy man!

A huge plus is the breakfasts — although they are always the same, they are very tasty. Also, there’s the possibility to do laundry (anyone who travels a lot will understand)!

Mr Crazy Man is the real value. He is funny, open and very kind with all the requests we made. The common spaces are amazing, you can easily chat with several other guests during the day. Unforgettable breakfast and free coffee and tea. Unmatched value for money

All stuff is extremely friendly. Owner is super helpful, he can arrange everything - trips, taxis, food for a good price. He also cooked the dinner that we could eat together and made us free laundry. The location was good, between Nungwi and Kendwa so we could walk to both. Also a lot of cheap eateries around. Super fully breakfast with eggs, toasts and the fruit plate. Free tea and coffee all day. It’s truly backpackers place, couldn’t ask for more as the vibes are unforgettable. Cute cat!

One of the best hostels we ever stayed in. Our room was comfortable and good value for money, breakfast was the best, and Crazy Man is the best host ever, he offered so much and did everything to make our stay the best. Thank you for everything! :) We also liked the location, full of local eataries.

Crazy man is such a generous person. Throughout our stay, we felt like his goal was not to make money out of us, but simply to make sure we had the best possible experience in Nungwi. For instance, he offers very cheap snorkeling tours, free laundry services, cheap drinks (cheapest we've had in Tanzania), etc. He also cooked for some of the guests. The breakfast was awesome! I know that many comments mention that the hostel is far from the beach, but we actually appreciated this. If you stay close to the beach, you only see tourist resorts. Walking 20 minutes to the beach every day allowed us to experience a more local side to Nungwi too. Overall, this was one of our best accommodations in Tanzania! Thank you Crazy man!
