Ive stayed many times at Krasnapolski. Great buffet. The a la carte eggs benedict was a bit disappointing, but Im a eggs bene connoisseur.

We had booked an apartment. When we arrived their were 45 stairs to the apartment with no lift. Not suitable at all for someone with mobility issues. But David managed to find us another one with a lift access... and while waiting for it to be serviced we were offered a complimentary drink with mixed nuts.

1. The most prestigious address in Amsterdam Staying directly on Dam Square with uninterrupted views of the Royal Palace is an experience in itself. The Winter Garden from 1883 is an architectural masterpiece - having breakfast under that glass dome felt like dining in a royal palace. The sense of history and grandeur is unmatched anywhere in the city. 2. Service and attention to detail at the highest level From check-in to checkout, every staff member delivered flawless 5-star service. The concierge team arranged everything seamlessly, housekeeping was impeccable, and the room was a perfect sanctuary after a day exploring. The beds are incredibly comfortable and the soundproofing is excellent - total tranquility despite being in the heart of Amsterdam. 3. Culinary excellence that defines luxury The breakfast at The White Room sets a new standard. Dutch cheeses, fresh pastries, live stations, and their legendary apple pie make it worth waking up early for. Grand Café Krasnapolsky is an institution - the atmosphere, the service, the quality. This is dining at its finest.

“Very disappointing and unsafe – completely misrepresented”

Our 8 night stay here was the biggest letdown of our trip. The apartment is not managed to hotel standards — it is owned by the local government, with the nearby Grand Krasnapolsky only handling check-in/out. This is not made clear upfront and is misleading given the positioning. The condition was unacceptable: stained bedsheets, filthy shower drain, stained toilet seat, dirty carpets, worn-out sofa, holes in walls, and even silverfish in the bathroom corners. Overall hygiene was extremely poor. There was no Wi-Fi at all, which the property claims is mentioned in the listing. Mobile network reception is also poor, leaving you effectively disconnected. In today’s environment, where even basic travel depends on internet access, this made the stay significantly more frustrating. The “balcony” was unusable and filthy— covered in pigeon droppings and moss — and the only airflow came with a constant weed smell from the neighbouring property. More concerning was safety. The main entrance was often left open, people loitered outside, and on two nights someone tried to open our apartment door. This felt extremely unsafe, especially with a child. The listing and ratings are highly overrated. Strongly do not recommend — particularly for families.

The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. All facilities were clean and well maintained. The convenience of having the space with a small kitchen, washing machine and extra living room space made it well worth the cost. The position was perfect.

Great location in the Old town, close to main attractions and public transport. This apartment located on the 1st floor, was very comfortable, and sufficiently supplied for 2 people. Your luggage was delivered and removed to/from your door by hotel staff which was very helpful as there is no lift. The beds comfortable, towels and linens of good quality. Enjoyed our stay in the apartment.
