The hotel was in construction (I wasn't told prior) and the elevator wasn't working. The price I paid was to high for the quality. Overall, it wasn't the quality I was expecting, I've stayed in an Ibis Budget before and this one wasn't budget friendly.

“Quiet Cosy Room”
Very quiet and comfortable room. We slept really well. It’s quite a trek to the city, but a pleasant stroll along the canal.

“Hotel is under construction, and should be closed”
They're renovating the hotel. It's filthy; most floors are under construction. The floors are extremely dirty, and there's dust everywhere. Very early in the morning, they started drilling in front of my window. Absolutely unacceptable. The hotel should be closed. It's opportunistic to keep it open, hence the poor rating.

First my issue is that when I booked the room it was mentioned that the breakfast was included in the price and not a small price 174,4€ with vat. And when I checked in they said the breakfast was not included in the price. I don’t know if it was a mix up with booking or their fault but it spoiled my stay there. Secondly the single beds are very uncomfortable the mattress is sliding from the bed while you sleep.

A really warm welcome from staff upon arrival, lots of information about local area etc, good car parking, comfy bed, great shower. Particularly excellent breakfast with very friendly staff!

The staff are very very helpful and very very friendly . The hotel had everything I needed, and is about 30 mins on foot to central Utrecht.
