Great hosts, very friendly older local couple, gave us the rundown of the village, discounts for rental gear and lift tickets, and even drove us up to the slopes every morning.

Great stay! The location is very close to the Shinden Bus Stop, which is super convenient. The hosts are a lovely couple—very friendly and full of energy! The drying room works perfectly, and there’s a coin laundry nearby if you need it. I’d definitely love to stay here again next time. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality!

“Amazing”

I love our host. They were so sweet, and gave us apples, choco pies og tea. One day they came with local sake which was delicious. Our room was super clean and they gave us fresh towels and linen every 3 days. The onsen was really nice and the ski bus stop was only 2 min away on foot. They nagasaka gondy is only 10 min away on foot. I will say this lodge is a jewel in Nozawa.

warm and welcoming hosts. floor beds were comfortable. helped with arranging ski lift passes and traditional breakfast. property is located in the centre of town. shared facilities but there is a toilet on every floor (and only two rooms per floor). everything is exceptionally clean, we loved our stay!

The place is run by the kindest, most hospitable people! They have very limited English but were so keen to help us enjoy our time in Nozawa Onsen as best as possible. They sat down with us when we arrived and used Google Translate to make sure we were comfortable and recommended all the best places to eat and how to get the best deals for lift passes and ski rentals. The room itself is a traditional Japanese tatami, it's comfy and the heater in the room made it nice and cozy for our winter stay. There is also a private bathroom which is a truly amazing experience to make this a 10/10 stay!

Easy to find and close to main areas of Nozowa village. The hosts were a delightful older couple, limited English to be fair but they were wonderful people.

Fabulous location clove to centre of Nozawa as well as bus shuttles, Onsen, coffee shops etc. Very clean ammenities.

“Exceptional Japanese hospitality from two beautiful and genuine people.”

We especially loved our hosts, Cousin and Now, who went out of their way to make us welcome. My husband left his helmet, goggles and gloves on the shuttle bus and when we arrived back Cousin immediately contacted the company and then went and collected them for us. They left little treats in our room to have with tea each day.

The hosts are so lovely and helpful. You really feel like you’re staying with family. The facilities are clean, the location is central and you are given all of the information you need for a good stay.

It’s like staying in your distant relatives’ house, the couple running Uemasa will welcome you with warmth and kindness. The accommodation conveniently located near the Shinden bus stop from Iiyama station and also the ski resort shuttle bus. Also v close to shinden local bath. You can take the shampoo basket the owner has ready for you. The futon mattress on tatami mat can be hard for those not used to it but the positives far outweighs the negatives.

The hosts were amazing and staying here made our trip in Nozawa Onsen. So friendly and kind. Japanese breakfast was great, good drying room, location good with two onsens nearby (towels and shampoo baskets available to use from Uemasa) and a short walk to restaurants and ski resort. Hot water, tea and coffee always available. It was perfect for our stay and we look forward to returning.

“Wonderful Stay!”

The house is managed by a wonderful couple who treated their guests warmly and kindly. The inn is extremely clean, and the shared bathroom is well maintained with a nice hot tub. Location is also superb and close to nearby eating places and bus stops. Will rebook and stay here again if we are visiting Nowona Onsen!

The husband and wife running the place were fantastic. Limited English but went above and beyond to explain and help. Location is a little away from busy area and a 10 minutes hike up the hill to gondola. The house and rooms were well heated and comfortable. Large Dry room, Breakfast extra, affordable and copious Bonus is location next to shinden bus stop and shinden onsen.

The Oyado is at such prime location, so convenient for our arrival with big suitcases, also a short walk to both Town centre and Ski gondolas. Huge thanks to the property owners, they are so caring providing most comfortable stay, plus beautiful and great variety of delicious breakfast.
