This was an awesome location, friendly staff, relaxing bath, warm comfortable rooms. The ski hire for guest was incredibly well priced. We missed the diner due to arriving after the time to book. We were sad as the breakfast was super fresh and delicious. We miss super fresh food when we are traveling around. We imagined the dinner to be the same as the hot pot smelt so great when we arrived. As we only stayed one night we can’t let you know how much we thought about this as an awesome place to return to on our 3rd Nozawa visit.

Excellent location, 5 min walk from ski lifts & 5mins in the other direction to heaps of great restaurants. Rooms were bigger than expected (Japanese style) & the meals we had were excellent. Staff were very helpful in sorting discounted lift passes & ski/clothing hire at an excellent price. Our family of 5 would love to stay again.

“Best place to stay in Nozawaonsen”

Nozawaonsen Wafu Pension MIYAZAWA From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuinely warm and friendly service. The atmosphere immediately made us feel at home. Meals were very affordable and absolutely delicious. Dinner came with two soup options — we chose the miso soup and the kimchi stew. The miso soup was incredible, honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. This was also the cheapest snow gear hire we found in all of Nozawaonsen. The owner was amazing when fitting our gear — patient, attentive, and always ready to help. On our last day I injured myself skiing, and the kindness didn’t stop there. The owner personally drove us to the bus station, which meant more than words can say. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality and care. We are deeply grateful and would highly recommend staying here.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the staff were so accommodating, friendly and welcoming! The ski and snowboard rentals were an absolute bargain, especially with the quality and variety of gear! Location was 5 minutes from the ski lift as well. No faults!

Very clean and close to ski slopes. The free to use rubber boots are nice as well if you don't have any snow boots.

“Amazing little traditional place to stay in Nozawa with great food!”

Couldn't recommend this place highly enough! It's only couple of minutes walk to the main gondola and it has a great dry room and ski storage is really well laid out. The staff are super friendly and helpful. We had the optional Japanese breakfast each day which was great and amazing value. It's in a quiet part of town with very little noise but only about 3min walk to the center of town with lots of restaurants and shops. Would also recommend the hot-pot dinner they do every night.

So close to the gondola and lovely staff. Breakfast was great value offering both a western & Japanese style menu. Room was comfortable and plenty of room (we had a triple room for the two of us).

We literally loved everything about our stay. Incomparable to hotels in European ski resorts, in the good way. Breakfast was amazing, ski material was of high quality and really easy to get and change. Apart from that, the hosts are extremely welcoming and kind. We'd love to go back some day.

The manager can speak English so you do not need to worry if your Japanese is not good. We rented the big room with toilet and shower inside, everything is clean and necessities are fully provided. You can ask them to prepare dinner (before you arrive, using their website) and breakfast (you can ask them when you check in), the food is delicious and you can eat as much as you want. It is close to Nozawa ski's Nagasaka station so you do not have to walk so much (about 100m) to reach ski area. We rented their snowboard gears (discounted price for guess), the manager will make adjustment to make sure it's fit and comfortable for each person, and their gears are in excellent condition, so we ended up rented them for the next day even thought we only stayed there for 1 night. You can also buy ski tickets directly from them, so you can immediately enjoy the slope next morning.

It had everything you needed. The toilets and showers were so clean at any time day or night. Breakfast for 500 yen was a great start to the day. Then you had dinner which was all you could eat which cost us around $30 Australian dollars for 2 adults. Our kids are free as they are under 6 years old. It had ski hire, free washing machine and dryer. Great location a short 5 minute walk to the main gondola to ski the mountains. The owner and staff were fantastic and very attentive and helped with everything we asked. Totally recommend
