The staff was extremely kind and generous. The facility was even cleaner than expected and everything was very well maintained. Absolutely recommend and would love to go again.

“Homely traditional hotel with Onsen”

Traditional house with Onsen. We had a lovely room on the top floor with a great view and a mezzanine. It’s very clean.

Location was very central, super convenient. Beds were very comfortable, slept like a log! Bath was nice and clean, good water pressure and temperature! Must try the waffle sandwiches at their Cafe, Torakichi!

The location of the property was very central to town and a 5 min walk to the Gondola. The hosts were so lovely and curious making us feel so welcome during our stay.

Impeccably spotless everywhere. Drying room facilities were amazing and included 2 washing machines (free). The fluffiest doonas you've ever seen! Never had to wait at the shared bathrooms. On site onsen was a lovely 42 degrees and if that isn't enough for you there are about 6 public onsens within a 5 minute walk. Japanese breakfast was amazing (didn't try western) and had enough for me for 3 meals! Our friend hurt her knee and the staff were so sweet fetching her tea and snacks while she sat by the fire. Great common rooms available for use (comfy lounges in front of the fire and a dining room which included microwave).

“Close to town and near the slopes”

The room was spacious and warm with comfy futons. It was close to the main street so easy to find places to go in the evening. The walk up to the snow was no problem - we left our gear at the hire shop, so we could just walk up in our day boots. The Onsen was warm and great after a day of skiing.

Our family stayed at Nozawa Onsen Utopia for four days and had a truly enjoyable Japanese Ryokan experience. The staff were warm, friendly, and always ready to help, which made our stay feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean, cosy, and perfect for relaxing after exploring the village and the snow. The location was excellent — an easy walk to the main street, restaurants, rental shops, and the moving walkway to the slopes. It was convenient and peaceful at the same time. We really appreciated the homely atmosphere and the care the hosts put into maintaining the place. Our family left with wonderful memories, and we would happily stay here again.

Good location in between the Nozawa Onsen main street, ski resort centre as well as the two popular public onsen bath places. Good car parking space (as rare resource in that area). The whole place is recently rennovated and good maintained. Neat, tidy and clean. Facilities are in good shape and condition. The staff/owner are very friendly and helpful. The cleaniness of shared bathroom and toilet were a positive surprise to me.

Great stay, the room was large with beautiful views, breakfast is delicious (western and japanese), the lobby is super cozy to seat down and enjoy a quiet evening, staff is super kind, and of course super clean, super close to all the shops

We loved this property, it was clean, cosy, the perfect location and the beds were like CLOUDS. The view from the window on the third floor was absolutely beautiful. The host is an angel and extremely accommodating - she helped us organise our large suitcases to be delivered to Tokyo through Yamato Transport FROM the accommodation. The in-house onsen is a daily luxury and the perfect way to end a big day snowboarding. They also have a washing machine and dry room for all your clothes and snowboarding gear - laundry detergent supplied
