Just a minute's walk from the popular Ogama Hot Spring in Nozawa Onsen, Nozawa Onsen Azegamikan offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Free private parking is available on site. “Everything you want from a lodge in Nozawa.”
This was hands down one of our best stays in Japan. Traditional Japanese style inn with western comforts. Perfect location for skiing to avoid crowds. Tucked away from the business but close enough to town. Taka and his wife were the most delightful hosts. The food and spa was wonderful. We will definitely be back!!!

Very new accommodation with great staff. Close to the main Street and easy to get to the ski slopes. Bonus was a small workshop to rewax your snowboards.

“Best spot in Nozawa”
Feels traditional Japanese not a big hotel. Owners are so helpful and friendly. The location is close to the Yu moving walkway to Hikage so perfect for skiers

Close proximity to the town centre and the ski resort. Beautiful finishes inside the property. The rooms were so comfortable. The Japanese breakfast in the morning was an incredible. The family who owns and runs the lodge are so hospitable.

We loved everything about this place! Excellent location near to both ski field and town. Impeccable facilities and thoughtful special touches with traditional Japanese feel. Lovey breakfasts and Onsen style bathroom soaks ;)

It was a fantastic location for sightseeing and snow activities and was very clean. They owners even offered and gave us a lift to the bus stop which was kind.

“A truly enjoyable skiing holiday”
Location was excellent; near the travelator that takes you up to the Hikage gondola, and close to the village with plenty of shops and cafes. The hosts were very helpful and hospitable. The private onsen was really great after skiing.

Amazing staff, location excellent adjacent to the travelator from town to Hikage ski area. Facilities are traditional & beautiful, breakfast sensational with Japanese or western choice, in house onsen (very hot & wonderful after a days skiing). It’s at the high end of town but close walk into the main area with activities and food options.

“A magical slice of Japan, great views and so close to the slopes. Highly recommend.”
We were so pleasantly surprised with the calibre of this accommoation. We were worried about the "shared shower" but they operate a system to write down your 30 min slot and it is exceptionally clean and well equipped with body and hair cleaning products. There is also a separate "private onsen" which a whole family could easily use at the same time. It was a 6 minute walk to the 'Yu Road' travelator which leads to the Hikage Gondola. You can hire skiis there. Loads of cafes at Hikage too. The staff at Azegamikan were so amazing. Changed our towels and sheets regularly. And spoke a little English too! The Western style breakfasts were great value and delicious. The futon beds were super comfortable. We had the big room (sleeps 6) and the evening sunsets were spectacular over Nozawa. We definitely want to go back. Loved it!

“Magic”
This place and owners rate the highest in my world travels. Excellent internal designs, onsen open early am; food exceptional; all details so perfect and thoughtful. They even have (an add fee) an oxygen/compression chamber for use; loved the loaner gumboots for trekking around the knee high snow. Thank you Azegamikan , you deserve a 5 🌟
