Very kind and helpful host. Traditional house with a very comfortable futon, lovely view out my window and a delicious traditional breakfast. Very convenient location, close to our favourite onsen, shops and Yu Road.

We absolutely loved our two-night stay at Miyasakaya. What a delightful little place! If you’re looking for a traditional experience, this is the perfect choice. We spent the first seven nights of our trip at a more upscale property nearby, which we also loved for different reasons, but Miyasakaya completely won us over with its charm and character. Seiko, the owner, is wonderful — if you don’t feel like giving her a hug when you leave, something’s wrong! Take the accommodation for what it is and you’ll enjoy every minute. The location is superb, we would absolutely stay here again and recommend to all other traveler's! 10/10 Thank you!

Amazing location - walking distance to ski entry, is close to the Main Street for food/drink and close to onsens. Simple, traditional rooms with extremely comfortable futon beds. Helpful dry room to store ski gear. Overall great value for money. We would happily stay again to explore Nozawa and come back for more skiing.

It was homely, charming, affordable, and comfortable. The owner Seiko is a lovely lady who is very friendly, accomodating, and speaks some English. Great location from the ski slopes as well.

“Basic comfort”
Great location, only minutes from the escalator up to the ski lift and in center of the village. Elderly woman who runs the place was friendly & chatty. Room was basic Japanese-style room but comfortable & warm.

“Generally the standard of this establishment is what I’d expect from a developing country, not Japan or at this price.”
Position Owner was genuinely helpful

“My Japanese nan has a dope ski chalet”
Location and cost are amazing. I even snagged a last minute booking for an impromptu ski trip to Nozawa Onsen. The house is near the bottom of the travelater so not much walking to get to the slopes! And the main drag is just down the hill tens of meters. Eat, drink and be merry. My bed was comfy (I was too warm, in fact!) and my room was cozy with a small but effective space heater and a kotatsu. The old lady who runs the joint is some mystical force of nature. She’s good humoured and does quite well with her English. She seems to crop up with various discounts to ski rentals and onsens!

“Authentic Japanese minshuku accommodation with great location”
Authentic Japanese minshuku with excellent location close to the escalator leading to Hakube gondola and also to several Onsen and the main shopping street. The owner is a lovely old lady - just be careful about the shoes and slipper rules. Ski and boot storage in the basement . Breakfast was beautiful, Japanese style and very tasty

Lovely host, great location. Very basic room and facilities but this is countered by the low price and the excellent location.

“Perfect, comfortable accomodation”
Miyasakaya is a small boutique accomodation. It was clean and comfortable for my 1 night stay. Easy walk from bus drop off and town. Delicious breakfast, very traditional. It is a share bathroom with no shower, you shower at the Onsen.

“Stellar location, exceeding all expectations”
You need to understand what you're getting; this is minshuku, not a full service ryokan. (but you'd be forgiven if you didn't realise!) The owner is lovely, extremely accommodating, and really exceeds her duty to her guests! Classic Japanese hospitality, which is becoming exceedingly rare, especially in the Australian enclave resorts! The house is old, but has been well maintained and recently renovated; all facilities are in excellent working order. The location is unbeatable, and I think it's safe to say she undercharges for her rooms.
