“The perfect stay while in Nosara”

We had a wonderful stay at La Negra Surf Hotel in Nosara. From the very beginning, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and the managers Nina and Julian. They are not only incredibly friendly but also very relaxed and truly embody the “Pura Vida” spirit. They were always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel itself is fantastic. Very clean rooms, thoughtfully designed, and functional while still feeling cozy. Its location is perfect, just a short distance from the beautiful Playa Guiones, making it ideal for beach days and surfing. Overall, it was a beautiful stay in an authentic place full of surfer vibes. We would definitely come back and highly recommend La Negra Surf Hotel to anyone visiting Nosara!

Wow! The set up at La Negra is excellent; - Perfect location, on a quiet back street, and as close to the beach and surf breaks as it is possible to get, through a short jungle walk - Great hospitality - Isabel and the team were really helpful and friendly, easily extending my stay, and create a great vibe - Excellent surf coaching - Juan Carlos is awesome, and really helped me progress my surfing. I am an infrequent middle aged surfer, and he took me back to basics to work through the proper foundation techniques, with quick progression to help me develop my skills - it gave me a lot of confidence, and clear improvements to my capability - he has a great approach and attitude, and I'd highly recommend booking a block of sessions with him, as that way you will get maximum benefits. - Great environment, with a relaxing pool area, good rooms, and the adjacent cafe serves excellent breakfast and delicious lunch Overall, amongst the best places I've stayed, and I definitely plan on returning.

The location is exceptional. Close to the beach, stores, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. The place has a very cool chill vibes and the staff is really nice and helpful with anything you need

I have stayed at La Negra several times, it is a lovely place in a fantastic location with direct access to the beach. The staff are all very helpful and kind, particularly Isabel on reception.

No Breakfast, the room was super nice with a kitchen so we could cook one night. The hammock was great. The air conditioner was great. Close to the beach.

Walking to the beach every morning, the best healthy breakfast and lunch restaurant, the kindness of the staff.

I stayed a bit more than two weeks with La Negra and I would highly recommend this place for any solo traveller trying to learn to surf. The location is impeccable with board rental on site. Juan Carlos who runs the La Negra surf school has been the best surf instructor I have ever had, he really wants you to progress. I learned so much from 4 sessions with him and wish that I could have stayed longer. Lodging experience alone was also really nice, Andre and Laura are amazing and took great care of me during my stay. Laura accommodated many of my requests including room preference, airport shuttle arrangement among others. Free laundry was included and they do it nicely. Breakfast at Destiny was included and Destiny is the most popular brunch place among the area with an extensive menu to choose from. La Negra location was pretty central and walking distance to shop/restaurant/surf spot. It is also a great place to meet like minded travellers and the general vibe in this place is really friendly, I felt safe as a solo female traveller during my stay at La Negra. I read some of the comments that room size was small. I think my room (room 9) was pretty spacious with comfortable bed/good quality linen. The hotel does offer many different rooms to choose from, some feature an outdoor space/smaller indoor room space. My room faced the pool and was rather quiet during the night so I slept well during my stay. (This could be an important thing for light sleepers to check since there is a lot of construction going on in the area) In general I was really happy with my choice to stay here and wish that I could come back soon to say hi to Andre's dog Manila again!
