Overview
Set over three buildings, this property dates back to 1886 and offers individually decorated guest rooms with a TV and private bathroom. Central Norrtälje is just 700 metres away. Various styles and furnishings decorate each room at Pensionat Granparken. All have free WiFi, an electric kettle and garden views. Swedish cuisine made from local produce, along with homemade bread and bakery items, are served at Granparken’s restaurant. It features two elegant dining rooms and a furnished terrace. Other on-site activities include relaxing in the spacious garden or bookable gazebo. Nice walking trails can be enjoyed just outside of the property. Free private parking is available on site.

“Comfortable and convenient.”
As before, the breakfast was splendid, and given that we were the only people staying, it was the more impressive that such a feast was provided. The room was even nicer than the previous ones had been, with a comfortable bed and a good view. And when I got jam on my trousers at breakfast, the lovely member of staff who had come in for us specially to make breakfast managed to clean them for me with cloth and water, which was well outside her duty as a cook.

The breakfast included PANCAKES as well as various flatmeats and cheeses, fresh rolls, boiled eggs, and all sorts of goodies! It was very pleasant indeed. And the bed was comfortable, even luxurious, with a lovely view over the garden.

The property is about a 20-minute walk from the city center and has a reserved parking area. The room was very nice and clean, and the breakfast was ok. We had asked via Booking whether it would be a problem if we arrived earlier, but we never received a reply. When we arrived, we called the number indicated on the door (and on Booking) several times without getting an answer. After a few attempts, one of the owners came out looking a bit annoyed, with the phone in her hand, and looked at us. We asked if it would be possible to check in earlier and she said no, but she kindly gave us the parking ticket anyway. In the afternoon, at check-in, the staff member told us that the bar would close earlier that day, but that we could call the number on the door if needed. I understand that it was low season and there weren’t many guests, but it doesn’t cost anything to be a bit more welcoming. Overall, however, we had a fairly good stay.

“A friendly place”
This is an ideal place to stay before catching a ferry to Åland, and the rooms are comfortable. A bonus small black dog in the evening and bonus huge ginger cat at breakfast, which we were assured was not the Hotel's cat!
