This charming 4-star superior hotel offers comfortable, modern and traditional accommodation in Nonnenhorn at Bodensee (Lake Constance), just a short stroll from the train station. The Hotel Restaurant Zum Torkel offers rooms in both the main house and the guest house, all of which are comfortably furnished in a modern style. Many rooms feature their own balcony or terrace. “Tolerable but not worth repeating.”
Room was described as a “Suite” with a lake view and separate living room up to 40 square meters. This is deceptive since the room was basically a normal hotel room size of at most 30 square meters and not a suite. The lake view was over roof tops and barely visible and did not justify calling it a view. Dinner was included however the cooking was terrible. Chicken extremely overcooked as was almost every dish and very over salted. “ Vitello Tonato” was an attempt by a chef who has no idea how the sauce should be made. Location and surrounding services was excellent and staff pleasant but I would not return due to the restaurant.

“perfect.”
It was an absolute delight to stay at Spa Torkel. Nothing short of a fantastic, relaxing, recharging stay. Beautiful room, spacious spa area with pool, whirlpool and two saunas, in walking distance to the lake, an INCREDIBLY attentive and caring staff, deliciously fresh and locally sourced breakfast and a stunning 5 course dinner in the evening. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this place and we will definitely be back again. WOW!

“Great getaway at the Bodensee”
We stayed there to celebrate our anniversary. Great memories of this place - both the hotel and the very special restaurant. Great location. Very walkable. Will be back for sure.

“Expensive stay but in a great location”
Fabulous location with just a short walk to the lake and the train station across the road . The staff were delightful and attentive. Great breakfast. Our bedroom was located on the first floor of the new block - it was spacious and very modern with a lovely view of the gardens. Very comfortable bed.
