The surroundings are nice and the room was clean and very comfortable (except for the extra bed) Dinner and breakfast were good too.

Mono Farm house is ideally situated for Wilpattu park. The room was very clean with good amenities there is also a fridge which is really useful. We went on a lovely evening walk by the nearby lake. The food was great and you can make requests if you want anything specific. I would highly recommend Moni Farm House as your base for a Safari. Thanks Buddika for a memorable stay.

Very comfortable spotless clean, new bungalow, nice quiet location, front porch, Very nice bathroom, Good size room, air conditioner, tv fridge, tea coffee, Very friendly and helpful staff at property made our stay. The owner is very helpful organised our safari in Wilpattu which was very good and helped us organise our transport to next location with a very friendly helpful driver. Best breakfast Sri Lanka coconut roti, fruit, omelette,fresh and plenty of food. Best evening meal, very good Sri Lanka curry and side dishes very fresh produce and vegetables.One of our best meals in Sri Lanka.

Perfect location, spacious room with everything we needed, small fridge with chilled beer & water! Great shower, comfy large bed, air con Very peaceful, lovely garden with lots of birds Staff Anjid & Sajid, are superb, looked after us very well & took us on a local jeep tour. Meals were great, tuna steak & rice with veg curry, very authentic. Lots of fruit & omelette breakfast. Buddika the owner very helpful, arranged an excellent all day safari where we saw a fleeting leopard, elephant, sloth bear, water buffalo & wild boar. Plus huge eagles & hornbills. Also drive us to our next destination

A great location close to the Wilpattu National Park entry, the caretaker was very helpful and the rooms were very clean and lovely.

“A beautiful find, highly recommend”

Fabulously clean and very stylishly designed. Fantastic location right near the National park (10 mins) - great for an early get up safari. The two double rooms are big with plenty of storage space and the bathrooms are gorgeous and well equipped with a great shower (3 head options) stylish fittings, shower gel etc to use and even a hairdryer (if that’s your thing). There are also plenty of plush towels provided and flannels. Tea and coffee making facilities, lovely crockery and clean kettle. The water is all filtered so a lovely change not having to use bottled water to clean teeth! Fridge was decent size and as we went all inclusive it was filled with water, juice and soft drinks. Also biscuits and cake bars which the kids loved! I would def recommend going all inclusive. Firstly there is very little in area and within walking distance and secondly the food was fantastic. Sajidh our man on site was attentive and friendly. We ate lovely Sri Lankan food and also a pasta lunch and they catered for us all as vegetarians with no problem. Beer was available to buy as extra but all other drinks included. There is a lovely walk to the nearby lake/wetland where cows graze and locals fish and bathe. We spotted so much wildlife on our sunset walk and everyone we met was very friendly. The veranda is also great for bird spotting! It really is a beautiful place and lovely and quiet. Buddika the owner organised a safari with a very knowledgeable guide and we saw around 25 animals including the elusive leopard!

We really enjoyed our stay at Moni Farmhouse - the location is superb, being very close to a lake with a lot of bird life. The food provided by Sajith and his wife was consistently excellent. We went on a safari tour that the owner, Buddika arranged for us - the guide was excellent and we saw a lot of wildlife, the highlight being a baby leopard just as we were leaving the park!

“A super stay close to the National Park”

Excellent quiet location, close to Wilpattu National Park - very helpful for getting to the park early in the morning ready for safari. Buddika, the proprietor, was so helpful and communicative. We arranged with him for him to fetch us from our previous location, and he took us to our next one as well, and we trusted his safe driving. He could answer in depth all the questions we had saved up about Sri Lanka. The accommodation itself was so nicely designed and built, and it felt fresh. Meals were good and served with warm hospitality. Lots of plans to expand their offerings on site.

Great location close to the national park, the hosts were fantastic, cooked us dinner as we arrived late from an afternoon safari and breakfast in the morning was delicious! Would stay again !

“Peaceful & conveniently located near the gates of Wilpattu National Park.”

Don’t hesitate to book this. We had a fabulous stay. The location was perfect. So close to the gates of Wilpattu National Park. Buddika the host was excellent to communicate with before the stay & during. He booked the full day safari tour for us. We had an amazing day! We saw three leopards, elephants & so much more. In the evenings we enjoyed walking by the nearby lake. It was so peaceful. The caretaker was very pleasant & made some lovely dinners & breakfasts for us. He also packed a breakfast & lunch for us for the Safari. Buddika arranged a Tuk Tuk for us to & from Wilpattu junction where we got the bus. Upon leaving we got a little stone elephant gift.

Very clean. Everything was new and it semelles amazing. The caretaker was very polite and cooked is incredible dinner. If you want to do the Safari, this place is perfect. We booked a Safari with getyourguide but you can also book directly with them.

He personally arranged our pick-up from Negombo, coordinated the drive to Wilpattu, and took care of every detail of our stay. The following day, we enjoyed a full-day safari in Wilpattu National Park, which I highly recommend! We were lucky enough to spot sloth bears, leopards, and elephants—a truly unforgettable experience. Moni Farmhouse is brand new and beautifully designed. It felt like staying in a private suite surrounded by nature, offering peace, comfort, and total immersion in the wilderness. All our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—were freshly prepared and delicious. After our stay, Buddika also arranged our transfer to Anuradhapura, making everything seamless and stress-free.
