Breakfast was lavish. Room lights switch was difficult initially to figure out initially.

Hotel is huge! and our room and dinner were great - our (non Japanese) first experience in having tatami facility within our room plus the eating of Japanese buffet; the spread was great esp with the sushi & steak. Parking (we had 3 cars) was very convenient, right in front of the hotel for easy drop off/pick up - the hotel staff helped a lot in directing us.

The environment is really nice and relaxing. I love the overall setting of the hotel, and they even have shows at night during our stay, which was a lovely touch. They provide onsite kimonos and seeing everyone wear them during dinner time was super cute! I also loved that the onsen wasn’t as crowded as I expected, which made the experience even more enjoyable

Spacious area & clean room. Staffs were friendly & helpful. The buffet dinner offers variety of local dishes, but the menu doesn’t change during our 3 nights stay. We all loved the onsen bath. Bus station is just right front of the hotel (bus stop name 足汤入口/Ashiyu Iriguchi).

It was outdated no clean room was moldy dusty was so expensive for what we got. Pillows were gross felt like sleeping on marbles.

The Japanese style room is a good opportunity to experience a little bit of Japanese culture. The onsen is great which is not overcrowded to enjoy my own time in the pool

NOTHING! IT WAS DISGUSTING. Super dirty, dusty, run down, old, the food is so bad....I could go on.

The insensitive were amazing especially the outdoor ones, large, quiet, and fully equipped with shower and pampering booths, loved that they’re open 24/7. The hotel is a short (10-15 min) walk from both hell valley and the Main Street with restaurants.

“My first ryokan — and honestly, it was pretty special”

This was my first time staying at a ryokan, and I think it went well. It’s not one of those fancy picture-perfect ryokans with a thousand years of history, but it definitely has its own unique charm — kind of felt like I’d stepped into an old anime, especially with the beautiful view from the window. It was a quiet, peaceful place. Dinner was pretty good, and the staff were quite sweet and welcoming. I saw some reviews mentioning racism, but honestly I didn’t experience anything like that — they actually seemed really happy to have us there. The room wasn’t dirty, just… old. A little worn out, yeah, but in a way that made it feel kind of cozy and lived-in. Not perfect, but not bad either. I’m not sure I’d stay here again, but this ryokan definitely left a little place in my heart.
