It had good vibes with a big courtyard with hammocks to kick back on. Secure onsite parking was a bonus.

We spent a night here, beautiful interior, quiet, very welcoming, the dinner was the most outstanding, thanks for your hospitality! Outside Nkob in the plain, very easy to reach by car.

First felt a bit reluctant booking Auberge Bassou for its location is a bit outside town. But so happy we booked it, for once arriving in Nekob it's well signposted and easy to find. Very peaceful, beautifull inner court, and we decided to have dinner at the property. We enjoyed a lovely meal, the lady (is her name Naïma?) is an excellent cook! All staff were very friendly and helpful, and Boobie the dog looks dangerous but is as sweet as a lamb (and a bit bonkers!). It was also a nice surprise to have a good working shower and our rooms had silent airco.

The facility is situated away from the noisy city centre. A beautiful garden full of citrus trees and a pleasant environment. We traveled by car so there was no problem getting to the hotel location. We also booked a massage and a day trek to the mountains. The owner drove us in his car to the starting point in Jebel Saghro and we did a trek of about 13 km with a visit to the Berbers.

“It’s a gem”

Just a few minutes away from Nkob, Auberge Bassou is like a peaceful oasis. Simple but tastefully decorated rooms around a lovely, green courtyard with lots of birds. Ibrahim and his sister running the place understand exactly their guests’ needs. There is great care in everything they do, from meals (excellent dinner, or a quick-fix meal in the afternoon) to an amazing tour in the Jebel Saghro. When we mentioned, that the next day while crossing the mountain towards Todra gorge, we were planning to do a few hours hike (by the way, the road to the north from Nkob towards Boumalna and Tinghir hardly shows up on Google maps but is in excellent condition), Ibrahim assured us that it was a great idea, told us about the tour he does for groups, usually 3 to 5 people, but not pushing us, nor trying to sell us anything. Still, we took up his offer and changed our schedule, and it became the absolute highlight of our ten days in Morocco. The central section of the Jebel Saghro is an amazing area, and having Ibrahim as our guide all day made it even more memorable (not to mention making it accessible without doing a 4-5 day hike which wasn’t an option for us). Spending an hour and a half with an Amazigh family, getting at least a hint of how they live out and beyond, without getting a ‘show’ for the tourists, was truly beyond our expectations (it took just 20 mins for my daughter and the three young girls of the family to become best friends even if without a common language). If you make it as far as Nkob, don’t miss this place.

This was probably our best accomodation in Morocco! Room, owner and his family, meals and garden - everything was excellent 10/10! The garden was peacfull silent place created for relaxing after long car trip. For the dinner we had 100 % our best Tajine in Morocco. Don't miss dinner there! Owner was really friendly and helpful. Our son has fantastic memory for this riad - small minerals pieces from sorrounding area :-) In our next trip to Morocco we wanted to come back and get recomendation from owner about treking in mountains, which are close to there. We can only recemend to stay thewre! It was fantastic!!!

Lovely gardens to sit and relax. Nice quiet location just a few kilometers from Nkob. Well taken care of by the staff.

The place is really quiet and beautiful and the people very attentive. The food is good too and the small boutique has interesting stones and trinkets.

The host was very friendly, dinner was awesome! The room was clean and looked nice.

Everything about this place is amazing. We instantly feel like home. Beautiful oasis in Saghro mountains close to N'Kob. Hospitality of people who are running this place is full of amazing vibe. If yo want to visit Mountains, Brahim is excellent guide from this area so you will be in the best heands. Have fun and enjoy. Food is also top class. Can't wait to be back.
