“Calm clean beach and sea”

Clean water with clean sand,not crowded, proximity to beach, easy access, no rough waves recommend to enjoy with kid

we have stayed many times over the past years at Pigeon Island beach resort and watched it getting more tired each year , this year we could see the improvements that Kumar the manager has been able to achieve on a limited budget, the meals if from the set menu are very good and tasty , but we avoided the buffet when the hotel was a bit busier , breakfasts are good and freshly cooked eggs to your taste. The location is everything about this hotel , a large beach , clear warm waters and good for swimming if the sea is calm , we go just before the main season and occasionally the sea is a bit choppy and not safe for swimming. Over the past 12 years we have befriended a group of beach dogs and feed and give them water as they have nothing to do with the hotel , the dogs do not like the local people but are friendly towards the tourists , for obvious reasons , again mummy dog is carrying her latest litter , each year we hope she is able to be spayed but she is never at the stage it can be done.

Excellent all round. Beautiful hotel in nilaveli. Extremely clean and tidy. Very good food and great service. Meeting facilities were also staff very friendly- my 1st visit and then when I returned on the 1st floor. Housekeeping member was great and was always concerned to make my room up nicely. “Manager needs to be changed then you could go for the location. Nothing else is worth it.”

The manager md malek was obnoxiously rude and had an attitude that should not be present in the hospitality industry. There was not an iota of civility in him. He accused us (a mother and a child) twice of not paying when we had paid both times. In fact he held us hostage for an hour because his card machine did not generate a receipt. Not once did he acknowledge his error. He even threatened to call the cops on us as if we were crooks. However he refused to let us speak with the gm of the hotel or even give us the number for the cops when we wanted to call them. It was a disgusting experience and I would not want anyone to go through this.

The staff and all staff are amazing will go beyond to help, the pool is very big and clean, the access to private beach area fantastic, they have a recognised PADI…diving team on site…the rooms are spacious and the food meets all nationalities needs…if you want a place to relax and have wonderful people around you this is the place

Positively to mention is the diving/snorkeling center on the hotel grounds. The team acts very professional and knows the areas on pigeon island and ghd other rocks very well.
