“Not the best stay.”

The garden and location was very nice.

The room was spacious with very high ceiling and comfortable beds. Location was perfect, with 5 minutes walk to the beach. The restaurant served delicious food, freshly prepared and attractive.

Our hosts were just lovely, Thier hospitality was second to none, they made us so welcome and cooked us the most delicious Sri Lankan Curry, yes the rooms are looking a little tired but that really didn't matter to us, they were clean and the beds were comfortable and all had A/C. If you want a warm Sri Lankan welcome and value for money, you cannot go wrong by staying here

“Cool place 2 steps away from the beach”

The owner and the staff are really, really nice and kind. They welcome you with a fresh juice you can drink on the patio outside of your room. The place is just 2 minutes away from the beautiful sandy beach of Nilaveli and it features a super green garden with a variety of plants. The room and the sheets were clean and the bed very comfy! They also have a restaurant were breakfast and meal can be ordered and the food is freshly made.

“Excellent base for the Pingeon island”

The price was a bit more expensive than shown on booking. We paid 31000/304=102 usd instead of booked 82.8+9=91.8. But otherwise it was a very nice place to stay. We booked two rooms, one with AC the other one without. Both rooms were clean and large with a table and chair. The beds were comfortable and very clean. For Internet we do not know as we better used our SIM card. The location is excellent for the beach and for the pingeon island. The beach is in an easy walking distance, once you reach the shore, there’s a radar military base protected by solders with machine guns on your left. This is closed, but on the right the beach goes for kilometres. At the beginning foreigners bath (from the bigger hotel), then there’s the base for the pingeon islands trips. The hotel also helped to arrange this. The trip is expensive because of the national park entry fee, but it’s nice and we liked it. Alternatively the the boats offer trips to another coral rock without the need for the entry fee. We didn’t try this. We booked a fishing trip and it was a nice experience for the kids. After the boats parking place, the locals bath. This is an interesting experience to watch as they bath in the full cloth and they do not know how to swim. This is also why a life guard is on duty here. Otherwise the beach is considered as safe, but due to big waves a normal swimming is not possible and the usability of the beach is therefore limited.

Island Breeze Inn has an excellent location just a few minutes away from the white sandy beach. The hotel has a wonderful garden and our hostess fulfilled all our wishes. She was incredibly nice and took great care of us with food and our extra wishes. When we were sick, she was very concerned and took great care of us. A great place to feel good and relax.

“Good enough but wouldn’t recommend.”

As with a lot of guesthouses in SL, this one is potentially great if only they would take just a little more effort. There is a beautiful garden - which should be attended better. The rooms are big, but with just one lamp working (out of 5), an odd smell from the toilet (we changed rooms) and a bathroom that could use an update, it’s bearable but only just. Staff is lovely, beach is very close, restaurants in the vicinity are OK to very good. But all n all it could be nicer.

“Nice room in tree oasis”

Big and clean room. Very comfortable. Good restaurant with best omelet in Sri Lanka and good prices. Kind and helpfull staff. The house is located i very plesant garden full of trees. Nice cool oposit of dry and hot rest od Nillaveli. Would visit again.

The rooms were decent. Food is really good and good portions. The property is located right next to the beach and is super close to get to pigeon island Overall an okay stay

The owner made excellent food and was really good in making sure everything was gluten free for me (I am coeliac).
