Very welcoming host and very helpful! He was very welcoming, always offering us coffee in the morning and he helped us with changing the dates of our stay as we had to cut the stay in trincomalee short. The room was very spacious with a very nice bathroom. we also used the laundry service and it was eccelent.

“Nice and quiet place for a couple of days in trincomalee”

Nice and peacefull place near the city. Sarath was very friendly and helpfull.

From the moment we arrived, we realized that the property was overbooked, so we were offered another room, which the owner said is the most expensive. However, the room was not properly cleaned and it did not have any basic items (toilet paper, soap, etc.). There were cracks in the doors and windows and in the ceiling, so there were insects in the room. We complained about the lack of hot water and the answer was that in that day, the hot water was at 37%, leading us to believe that there was a temporarily heating problem. But in reality, that room had no hot water whatsoever. So we complained about it again, the next day and we were moved in a room that was just vacated. It was also missing toilet paper, which was given to us after 2 days. We never received soap. The room was very dirty, with mold on the bathroom door. Also, there was a tap (for washing the feet) which popped out of the wall, splashing everything in the bathroom, including myself. I put it back in the wall, but it was still leaking and it did so, until we left (2 days), because the owner did not do anything about it, even though we pointed it out. The owner kept apologizing, but it was still under our expectations.

It doesn't have a name. Homestay is a description. But it didn't feel like one. The address is misleading mentioning Nilavella twice! Tuk tuk drivers couldn't find it. We asked for more cleaning which they did, but the bathroom was still not clean.

It’s an amazing place to stay. Close to the city and the beach. The host was amazing and helped us with everything we needed.

Great host great place everything you need. The owner makes you feel like home in Trinco. Thanks for having us.

A calm and quiet place. Very hospitable owner. In general, everything is great. We stayed at Home Stay Resort for the second time and will come again. We are a family with a child and there is everything for a comfortable long-term stay - spacious rooms with air conditioning, a kitchen with everything you need for those who cook themselves. A large store is within walking distance. You can always contact the owner on any issue, rent a bike, buy train tickets or find out where the most delicious samosa is.

Everything is perfect

Sarath was one of the best host I've ever had in my whole life. He dropped us to get lunch, to get at the beach and also at the bus stand. Also i really enjoyed to talk to him and he gave us the feeling that we are part of the family🫶. So if you want the best experience you can get in sri lanka, then please stay at home stay resort! PS: You can also rent a scooter, which is very cool!! Thank you so much for making our trip to Trincomalee unforgettable!

The host was really nice and the location was good and close to the central city and you could use Pick Me and Uber to get to all the places, he also did laundry for us at a really cheap price ;)

“We‘d come back!”

Our Host was very kind and attentive. He‘s been there for us all the time! We liked our little flat very much and it had everything we needed. It’s not far to the beach and you can find several restaurants and shops on the way.

We’re a young couple from germany and stayed here for four nights and had a great time here. This was the most amazing host! He helped us with renting a scooter, gave us a ride to the beach and above all drove us the full 5 hours down to arugam bay which was our next destination. He was always there and did everything for us and we are beyond thankful for the experience we had in trinco. The room was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed. We love the host and we will definitely be back!

I loved my stay at this Home Stay! The owner really made it feel like a true home! The room was spacious and clean and I loved the wooden features. At any time I had a request, the owner was there to help. He served me a delicious breakfast and for dinner he made me the best chicken curry I ever had. The portions were very big but I paid less than at the restaurants. On my last day, he drove me to the train station for free and because I had booked a wrong train he talked to the cashier for me and even paid for me to change my ticket. This man truly doesn’t care about the money but only about ensuring that every guest has the best possible experience in Trincomalee. I highly recommend this place! Just be aware that it is a 20min walk to the beach and the nicer beaches are a bit further, but it’s very easy to go by tuktuk or maybe ask the friendly owner for a lift ☺️

“Central stay for a Trincomalee visit”

The owner is very friendly. The room is simple, with a nice AC and comfortable bed. We’ve been there for two days, and during this time our host made us feel at home. Because the place is in the middle part of town, either the beach area in Uppeveli, or the south part of the city, near Dutch Beach, are both accessible within 10 minutes by tuktuk.

Actually it was a nice and safety place . Good and frendly service .

A lovely, family owned accommodation with very spacious rooms and comfortable beds! Located a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the main street, so a good night sleep is guaranteed. The owner is kind and going above and beyond for his guests. All over a great stay!
