“Would Return Without Hesitation”

This hotel is a hidden gem with great potential that could be developed even further. The rooms are basic but feature comfortable beds. There is no TV and the Wi-Fi coverage can be unreliable, which actually suited us well—we did not travel all this way to watch movies, and it encouraged our kids to spend more time with their parents and enjoy the holiday together. The hotel has a nice swimming pool and is just a short walk from a lovely beach, where sunbeds are set beneath palm trees. There is also an on-site restaurant serving good food, while several other bars and restaurants are within walking distance. What truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. A special thank you goes to Mr. Pragash, who made our stay incredibly pleasant with his professionalism and warm attitude.

The staff were incredible and so helpful. We wanted to change room to a higher floor and they were very accommodating. The man who runs the restaurant is a credit to the hotel - so friendly and welcoming. Wonderful beach access.

Great location. Pool was such a bonus. Beach was idyllic and water was warm and calm. Only a few minutes’ walk to a great bar / restaurant (tiki bar). Good seafood about 20 minutes‘ walk along the beach.

Well maintained, beautiful property right by the ocean! The beach is almost private to the hotel guests and it’s super clean! But the best part is the service provided by Mr. Prakash. In all our travels, we have never received such 5-Star service! He anticipated our needs before we could think of them and took incredibly good care of us! If the management is reading this - give this man a raise! He single handedly made the High Park hotel experience one of the best we‘ve ever had! The food is very reasonably priced and is very tasty, especially the local Sri Lankan dishes. Dinners were arranged on the beach, which was a beautiful experience in itself! The pool is also cleaned meticulously multiple times a day. Our room was spacious with great air conditioning. All the staff are very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet retreat off of Nilaveli beach!

“Very nice hotel, but off season feels like an empty house”

Nice clean hotel. Was there off season and felt like the whole hotel was just for me. Would love to mention Pragash, he was the best from the hotel staff. Filtered water was always available for free and there was a small fridge in the room.

A great location right next to the beach with friendly staff and good food. The room was fantastic with a very nice hot shower, and cimfy bed. A very comfortable stay. The manager helped us hire a self drive car, which was really appreciated.

Superb family run hotel with great pool located on peaceful Tangalle beach. I'd fully recommend if you want a relaxing quiet place to stay. Good seafood restaurant just a short walk down the road.

​High Park Hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the area, with numerous excellent restaurants just a short walk away. While we only sampled the breakfast (which was great), the hotel offers on-site dining as well. The staff is efficient, professional, and incredibly welcoming. A special thanks to Mr. Arunpragash whose extraordinary kindness and attentive service made our stay truly special. (10/10) Even during the off-season, the impressive pool was pristine and the grounds were well-maintained. Our room was spacious, featuring a comfortable bed, a great shower, and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool, garden, and sea. Our only suggestion for improvement would be adding luggage racks or more hooks/hangers, as we had to keep our bags on the floor. Overall, a fantastic experience - we would definitely return.

The staff, especially Pregos were extremely helpful and attentive. The food in the evenings was excellent. The hotel is right on the beach and the pool is amazing.

“I recommend this place”

The hotel is beautiful and the location at the beach superb! I stayed in a standart room. Just a bed, bedside tables and a mirror. All beautifully crafted and confortable. Nice balcony and a little clothes rack to dry wet swimmwear and such. There is also AC and a fan. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you want your room get cleaned, just leave the room key at the reception (I didn"t know beforehand, this would have been useful information which should be given at check-in). The sri lankan breakfast is amazing! Loved it, but it has to be pre-ordered one day before. I also learned about this on the 4th day. There is an exeptional friendly and caring waiter at the restaurant. He was the one who gave me all the information besides beeing just an amazing person! He cares for all and everyone and does it with grace and joy.

Everything was really good. The room, the pool, the service, the people. I recommend this hotel a lot !

“Excellent location by the beach”

The pool was excellent and we used it daily. Even though the beach is right at the door step we were keen to swim for fitness and the pool was a great length for this. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff is really lovely, always smiling and extremely helpful, with a special mention to one team member who was incredibly kind and went above and beyond during our stay. The rooms are spacious, the pool is very nice and well-maintained, and the direct access to the sea is a real plus. Breakfast was good and varied.
