The room was directly facing the enormously beautiful beach, slept and woke-up to the sound of the waves, it was simply lovely. Room was very very spacious, it felt like a room at my home, which is so hard to find within the price range of this hotel. Staff was super helpful, always engaging with a smile and ready to help wherever needed.

Excellent location right on a lovely stretch of beach and within easy walk of restaurants and the main village centre. All rooms have a sea view and are very spacious. There’s also a lovely beach bar.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cardamom Hotel so much that we decided to extend it for a few more nights. The hotel is located in a beautiful area and offers a wonderful, clean pool and beach area that made it the perfect place to relax. The rooms are big and very stylish. We especially loved spending time on the balcony and enjoying the bathtub after a day at the beach. The whole atmosphere is calm and peaceful — ideal for a relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Every conversation with them was a pleasure and made us feel genuinely cared for. We also really enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant: the traditional Sri Lankan dishes, the fresh seafood, and even the pizza with fresh pineapple were all excellent. Another big plus is the diving school right next to the hotel, which made the experience even more special. Altogether, it had everything we needed for an unforgettable beach holiday.

“Peaceful beachfront stay near Pigeon Island”

The hotel is a good base for snorkeling at Pigeon Island National Park and exploring nearby dive sites, with several dive operators conveniently located right next door. Its beachfront setting and well-maintained pool are definite highlights, creating a relaxing and scenic atmosphere. The surrounding area is relatively undeveloped, which makes it especially peaceful. The open-air restaurant onsite is quite good, and the pizzas are especially impressive :) The rooms are spacious and comfortable overall.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is perfect, the rooms are very clean and comfortable, and the staff are truly amazing — friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced. We were extremely happy with everything. Honestly, everything was perfect, and we really did not want to leave. If we ever return to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay here again without any doubt. Highly recommended!

Nice hotel at the beach, with a lovely garden and pool. The room was spacious and clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was also decent.

We had an amazing stay at the Cardamon Hotel. Beautiful place, amazing views and very, very kind staff made our stay unforgettable. The room was spacious and clean. And the walk from the room to the sea was only 1 minute. We would recommend this stay to everyone!

This is my second review because we extended our stay. We really enjoyed staying here and it's the nicest hotel in Nilaveli beach.

“The best hotel on Nilaveli beach”

We had a wonderful stay here. What started out as a two night stay turned into an 11 night stay. Everything was great, but most especially all the people who work there and made our stay so nice. They are all so friendly. The rooms all face the pool and the sea. Ours was very comfortable and the bed was too. Absolutely silent AC, which is ideal. The pool is great, and is kept really clean. There are sun loungers under the shade of palm trees and the beach is good for swimming and walking along. As the hotel was closing for a week's maintenance after our stay, we went to look at some of the other beachfront hotels and none of them came even close to the Cardamon's level 🤗 There is a restaurant where we had great breakfasts, (especially the parota) and we also had some lunches and dinners there. There are other nice places to eat nearby too. We hope to return next year 🤞

“Keep calm and swim”

The pool's great for laps when the sea's too rough. The neighbor's dog, the two fat cats, the views, and above all, it's super relaxing. Nice wooden floors in the room and a decent bathroom.
