Overview
Located in the Yumoto hot-spring area, Yumoto Itaya offers indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths. A relaxing massage can be requested for an extra cost and guests can enjoy traditional multi-course meals for dinner. Guests can ride the Tobu Bus for 80-minutes from JR Nikko Train Station to Yumoto Bus Stop, which is a 5-minute walk away from the Ryokan. The air-conditioned rooms come with a flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Guests can choose to stay in Japanese or Western style rooms, which all come with an en suite bathroom. Yukata robes and slippers are provided. You can enjoy singing at the karaoke room or shop for local gifts at the souvenir shop. Luggage storage and photocopying services are available at the front desk. All meals feature Japanese dishes and are served at the Sanmintei dining room. A la carte Japanese dishes are also available at Asunaro restaurant. Itaya Yumoto is a 20-minute drive from Kegon Falls and a 10-minute walk from Yumoto Ski Resort. Senjogahara Plateau is a 10-minute drive away.

Service is exceptional. The lady host offered gloves, snow boots to us. While waiting for the bus, she offered coffee too. The onsen is very good. Food is delicious.

“Best value Ryokan of our stay around Nikko which included Ryokans like Kai Kinugawa and Kanaya Kinugawa as well as Fufu”
The friendly and helpful staff. The dinner and breakfast was excellent. What we paid for our stay was covered by the dinner alone at many restaurants in Tokyo.

The woman at the front desk is so sweet and kind! We had a fantastic time between our kimonos, the beautiful location with snow covered peaks in the distance, and delicious food! Our favorite stop in Japan.

“Fantastic. Especially the traditional part like the onsen and dinner”
Very typical. We had a ryokan dinner which was one of the highlights of our vacation. People don’t speak English very well but we’re super friendly to try understanding or explaining us the customs.

Our stay in Yumoto was an incredible experience. The meals were delicious and our room had a magical view of the town. It was our first onsen experience and my partner watched a deer over the fence while he enjoyed the onsen. The staff were so kind and accommodating and took the time to ensure we understood and made the most of our experience. We were especially touched by the gesture of some cookies for our bus ride back to Nikko.

“Highly recommend to tourists wishing to use an Onsen and enjoying ryokan hospitality.”
Fantastic traditional Japanese inn (ryokan). The on-site onsen had two options, indoor and outdoor. The friendliness of the staff made us feel very welcome and the meals served were traditional and delicious.

“Comfortable onsen”
Friendly staff, spacious room, and a great indoor and outdoor onsen. Our room has separate bath, toilet and washing area. Excellent dinner and breakfast as well.

“Great location, even better onsen water”
The hotel has a good location in a nice quiet spot and my room had a great view of the mountains on the opposite side of the town. Yumoto onsen itself can either be reached by bus or better yet by walking from ryuzu waterfall through the peaceful marsh land senjogahara. The quality of the onsen water is amazing and among the best that I have ever experience in Japan.
