“Best stay ever!”

Yoshi and his wife Dea were very welcoming and the guesthouse is lovely furnitured..It's only 5 minutes walking distance from the station and locaed in a small quiet street near restaurants Yoshi was amazing! He provided us so much helpful information also in paper form which ensured we know exactly where to go and get on and of the bus. Plus restaurant, hiking and cycling tips. What we also appreciated very much, that they always prepared some fresh fruitsand some granola in the morning with coffee and tea. Yoshi is renting bicycles and as guests we were allowed to ride them for free which we did. It was fun and we were able to discover another nice area with huge oak trees nearby. The cherry on the cake was his offer to get a photo done in his photo studio inside the guesthouse. He offered it as a souvenir! What a wonderful souvenir. We were touched by his kindness!

Very nice B&B, modern and classical mix and a very accommodating gracious host. Yoshi-san helpt us to get to the festival in time, gave solid tips for restaurants and brought us to the JR station on our day of departure. And and he gave us a very nice photo of us. Highly recommended.

Wonderful homestay. Yoshi and Rei are fantastic host. Yoshi lent me a bicycle which greatly help my autonomy. He also prepared very useful informations for the hike. We had nice conversations in the evening which made my stay in Nikko unique. A warm thank you!

Staying at Sanga Nikko was an unforgettable experience. The house is beautiful and offers an authentic Japanese atmosphere. The host is honestly the best part of the stay. He went above and beyond for us, creating a complete travel itinerary and a detailed walking route through the Nikko National Park. He is incredibly helpful, approachable, and social. He truly cares about his guests and makes you feel right at home. If you want to experience real Japanese hospitality, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

“Friendly and calm.”

The host, Yoshi, was really friendly and welcoming. He gave us a lot of tips of things to do in the area. He was very down to help out. He also let us borrow really nice hiking shoes, which were useful when we were hiking on a rainy day. We wished we could have stayed longer in Nikko and especielly at that friendly place. The bedrooms were cosy and had nice beds. We also had access to extra rooms to hang around in.

Our host, Yoshi, was amazing. He welcomed us into his home and really helped us make the most of our short time in the area. We really appreciated the time he spent with us and enjoyed speaking with him.

We absolutely loved our stay here, Yoshi and his wife are wonderful hosts, Yoshi helped us plan a beautiful hike for our day including how to navigate the public transport and even provided hiking boots which were really helpful. The property is lovely, super clean and well-maintained, it was great to have somewhere so cosy to come back to to relax after a long day and the beds were the comfiest we slept in on the whole trip. Yoshi was also kind enough to lend us some bikes so we could make the most of our day after check out and we left Nikko super happy we got to see everything we wanted to. Thanks so much we will definitely be back someday :)

“A wonderful experience”

Yoshi was a fantastic host, so many brilliant touches and attention to detail! We had a bedroom and separate lounge area alongside access to the communal lounge. Everything was spotlessly clean. A light breakfast was provided. Yoshi used to be a professional photographer and he offered to take our photo which was lovely! He also recommended plenty of things to do during our stay. We really couldn’t recommend enough!

“A beautiful guesthouse run by a kind and generous host”

Staying at the Sanga Guesthouse was one of my favourite experiences I've had while travelling. Yoshi-san was an incredibly kind and gracious host. I had a few ideas of what I wanted to do in Nikko, but nothing locked in, and he helped me plan out my time there, right down to bus schedules and opening times. He suggested a snow hike up in Yomoto Onsen town, followed by an afternoon in an onsen bathhouse, which was one of the loveliest days I've had travelling - I would highly recommend, if you're there in the winter. The guest house is located right by the train station and main bus stop, making it a perfect base for exploring Nikko. The room was absolutely lovely too, a very welcoming and comfortable place to come home to each day. Definitely stay a few nights if you can! There's a lot to see in Nikko and surrounds, and it rewards that extra time there. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We had experienced Japanese inns with shared bathrooms so we’re happy to book Sanga Nikko. Delighted we did , Yoshi is a wonderful host, going above and beyond to help you enjoy your time , but not at all intrusive. Great location, spotlessly clean and whilst it is not our usual choice, the shared facilities are fine. They also provide a light breakfast.

Our stay was exceptional thanks to Yoshi’s warm hospitality and friendliness. The facilities were impeccably clean, and the thoughtful extras including a breakfast, complimentary water, and even the use of hiking boots elevated our experience even further. The location was ideal, just a short walk from the train station and perfectly positioned for accessing all of Nikko’s bus services. Our room, along with the adjoining sitting area, was remarkably spacious and comfortable. Altogether, every detail contributed to a truly outstanding stay.

Everything about the place was incredible. The hosts were super nice and gave us clear information on certain hikes and how to get everywhere. They also provided free hiking shoes. We didn’t have to think about anything as Yoshi walked us through potential activities we could do and when we should do them. Highly recommend if going to Nikko.

Really liked interacting with the host, who sat down to explain things we could do and how to get around. The advice was very spot on for us and we really enjoyed their recommendations. The room was very comfortable, exceptionally clean and the shared bathroom/toilet which we were unsure about- turned out to be no problem at all!

Sanga Nikko is a 5-minute walk from Tobu-Nikko station which is very convenient. Its host, Yoshi-san, was very welcoming and immediately made me feel at home. House rules were explained clearly and was shown the amenities in the guest house. Yoshi-san was very helpful in providing tips tailored to my needs in Nikko. He provided maps and bus information based on the locations I wanted to visit. Even though breakfast was not part of the booking, Yoshi-san provided cereals, fruits, milk and other beverages for his guests. The room allocated to me was comfortable and cosy. Being a guest house, I also had the opportunity to interact with other guests and it was nice to hear their stories. p.s. when Yoshi-san learned about my birthday which happened a few days prior to arriving at his residence, he surprised me with a gift from a nearby confectionery! Arigato, Yoshi-san!
