Overview
Guests can refresh at our free public indoor and outdoor onsen. The open-air onsen is surrounded by rocks from Mt. Nantai, which is said to be a powerful spiritual spot. The sulfur spring water changes color depending on the temperature and season, milky white, milky green or transparent. If you'd like to use a private half open-air onsen with your family or friends, at extra cost, it's better to make a reservation in advance to take your preferred time. Each room has twin beds and a tatami (woven-straw) seating area including en suite bathroom. A flat-screen TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags are included in each. Japanese Yukata robes and slippers are provided for all guests. Local products can be purchased at the gift shop. Guests can relax at the massage chairs after a long day of trecking or skiing. Japanese kaiseki multi-course meals are served on site. *Food allergies can be accommodated if you inform us at least 3 days in advance. 10 minutes drive to Senjogahara, 15 minutes drive from Lake Chuzenjiko, a few minutes on foot to Lake Yunoko, 6 or 7 minutes on foot to ski resort.

“Good place to stay for a night, if you’d want to enjoy an onsen in Yumoto, but don’t expect the pictures.”
It’s in a great location and has a nice onsen. Breakfast was great.

“Older property, but lots of wonderful amenities & excellent staff!”
Staff were very friendly, shuttle bus option was excellent, lobby was comfy with a fire and lots of seating, restaurant and staff were excellent - we had a male server that spoke really good English who we really enjoyed for dinner & breakfast, private onsen was great, yukata & slippers provided were great.

“Great place to explore Okunikko”
Located a few minutes,by foot, from the bus stop. Great onsen, the opaque white water were great to my sore muscles after climbing mount Nantai. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Amazing dinner and breakfast. Has this ryokan seen some years? Yes, but this only serves to give it a rustic character and inviting atmosphere.

“An Amazing Stay”
The hotel situated in a beautiful peaceful village with the lake, waterfalls and walking trails etc. The staff were very professional and helpful and went out of their way to assist guests. One of the staff on morning shift helped me to find the locker key, and I felt so sorry that I didn’t even get his name to say thank you. I’ve been to many Japanese hotels and ryokans, and the meals at Okunikko Konishi were amazing. They used the most fresh local produce and presented them beautifully. The room was spacious and clean. I’m so looking forward to returning soon.

Excellent and diverse Japanese breakfast and dinner for a good price. The staff is very friendly and supportive. Very good location in walking distance to Senjougahara and Mt. Shirane.

Wonderful location with beautiful magical setting. Very good value and quality food and special presentation. The hotel staff were very attentive and kind, nothing was too much trouble making it a great overall experience. Loved the very Authentic hot spring and cozy open fire :)
