“Very comfortable stay with authentic Japanese hospitality”

The staff were super hospitable even though only a few knew English, making the stay very enjoyable. The futon and blankets were great and very comfortable. The dinner and breakfast were very delicious and well prepared to make sure you are full on your stomach and with Japanese hospitality.

Location was great - easy bus ride from the station and really close to the temples and shrines. Also visited Okunikko which was a really easy bus ride from the hotel. Staff were really welcoming and friendly. A great ryokan to start our holiday in Japan.

The location was great walking distance to Shrines and temples. That was our 3rd stay in a Ryokan and to be honest this one was not as quaint (probably a bit too big and touristy for us).

Staying st the this hotel is a beautiful experience. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Our room with private onsen was enormous and we could walk to the shrines. The hotel’s onsen is beautifully appointed and a real joy.

Room was great, food exceptional and staff very polite and friendly. Nice setting near the river. Ladies get to choose from a range of yukata designs.

I booked a room with an outdoor private bath, it had great views from the bath. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The location itself was very peaceful and scenic.

A nice surprise for welcoming Mocha set and their good variety of Onsen. They offer a pair of Japanese socks every day to help a comfortable onsen experience on daily basis. Very nice location and mountain view.

Amazing stay with a spacious room and beautiful facilities. We booked with breakfast and dinner which were extraordinary. The hotel is located next to the main shrine and main attractions.

“Traditional japanese style hotel; great location and impeccable service”

Despite the unassuming exterior of the hotel and photos of rooms looking quite old, the hotels' facilities met all our needs and rooms were clean. We chose a tatami room with a modern toilet and shower. Having never stayed at a ryokan, we were fully ready to accept some discomfort due to unfamiliarity with sleeping on futons and sitting on mats, but the room was airy and we had a good night's sleep on our very soft futons. When we arrived at 10am, staff came out to greet us and gave us a generous rundown of the hotel's facilities. The ground floor has public, gendered onsens, both indoors and outdoors. Our package also included a traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast - I saw in comments that some places will serve sashimi without exception, but as two in our family didn't eat raw fish, we asked for replacements in our menu. The meals we were served reflected our requests, which we were very happy with!

The hotel is located in a very nice area, close to the famous Shinkyo Bridge and Toshogu shrine. The staff is very helpful and the onsen is fantastic. I recommend taking half-board, the kaiseki menu is unforgettable.

The staff was very friendly! Had a beautiful entry way and provide tea (matcha - it’s not the freshest but it’s the experience that counts) and a red bean snack that was cute and nice! I love the little gift shop and tea area. They provide yukatas for everyone and it’s a different color per room. Women also can select a different yukata outside and it’s fun seeing everyone walking around in their own yukatas.

The room is large and very spacious.
