“Excellent 👌🏻”

The staff was really friendly and everything was clean. The surroundings are beautiful and it's a bit of a walk from the bus station but you enjoy the views!

The owners are extremely kind and friendly. Breakfast and dinner offered are freshly made and tasty. There is always free water and tea available in the downstairs seating area. The landlord speaks English fluently as he's lived in the US before, hence no problems with communication. The hotel is located between the train station and the temple and shrine area, it takes about 20 minutes on foot to get to the historic sites. On the final day the landlord took my luggage to the station and even brought me by car to a place in the area that I still wanted to see. A great experience.

Excellent location. It is little inside and is surrounded by nice greenery. The facility is nice. We stayed there only one night to sleep. Host is very nice. Nice breakfast (paid).

The hosts are lovely people who are very welcoming. The bed was comfy, and the heated blanket made for a cosy night. The local scenery is beautiful, and you can easily go for nice walks from the hostel. The large living area is ideal for big groups. It would be a good spot in summertime.

We felt at home. Plenty of good sights in walking distance. Nice open fire on a cool night.

breakfast and dinner was delicious. Location is peaceful and quiet and relatively close to the temples. Taxi ride from Tobu Nikko station is also cheap.

There were bed bugs in the dormitory. I am covered in bites. Should have left after one night, but there were no other options.

Room was clean enough and quiet, meal was cooked individualy but the room light wasn't lit, after flushed toilet papers returned in the pot. Not exactly complains these are small point.

Lovely homely feel. Ken-san and his wife were excellent hosts who made excellent food for a fair price. They even ran me a big hot bath and kindly offered me a lift to the station when I left. Ken-san also went out of his way to help me plan my day trips and gave me recommendations for what to see/how to save money etc. Bed had an electric blanket too which was amazing in winter! Loved it, felt very taken care of!

The house is very nice in the forest and close to Nikko city. I stayed 2 nights and i don t regret. The dormitory is big and i slept well. What i like it is the " cosy" atmosphere of the house. It is unique. It is not a simple hotel. Don t waste your energy if you are tired and with suitcase. There are many taxis just front of tobu station train and it is very cheap only 800 yen. For the check out there is a transfer free at 9.30. For the dinner , eat in the house it is very good , fresh food and not expensive. I recommend a very cosy " coffee " place up on the road less than 5 minutes by walking. It is a good place to have a drink. You can reach the famous bridge and monasteries by walking. Thank you the owners they are very helpful, polite, they do the best for the guests. I read reviews about beetles. Keep in mind you are in nikko forest, surrended by trees, wood...its is not a hostel in tokyo.

“Pleasant but poorly located for public transport”

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the accomodation was pleasant enough, but was booked late during peak season, so was expensive.

Super friendly staff, plus optional on-site breakfast and dinner options are great as dinner places in Nikko tend to close early. Comfortable beds too!

Not very much. The mountains around were quite beautiful just wish if I gotta enjoy my moments there.
