Just a 3-minute walk from JR Nikko Train Station, Guesthouse Sumica offers beds in dormitory rooms, as well as Japanese-style private rooms. It features a shared kitchen and free tea and coffee. The Sumica Guesthouse is a 5-minute drive from the Nikko Tosho-gu shrine, and a 30-minute drive from both Lake Chuzenji-ko and historical theme park village Edo Wonderland (Nikko Edomura). “central housing - good for exploring nikko town”
it was at a great location! the owners were exceptionally nice :) the tatamitmat was nice to sleep on, i enjoy traditional houses more. they have coffe/tea m/cookie for everyone in the morning.,

“Amazing and hospitable experience”
Really amazing experience. Staff so friendly and helpful - I was checked in by Yuko who gave me lots of advice and trip ideas. Later in evening the hosts they provided a free shuttle to some nearby onsens. In the evening the hosts also taught me some Japanese. The next morning they provided a free tea ceremony for me before I left. Overall i recommend this guesthouse a lot.

“Cute home in Nikko!”
Highly recommend this place, especially if you’re traveling solo! I loved my stay here and even ended up extending it after meeting some great people at the guesthouse. During the low season in Nikko, many places,including restaurants,close quite early, so it was really nice to have a place where travelers could hang out and have fun together in the common area. The owner does a wonderful job of creating a cozy, homey atmosphere. She organizes small activities, suggests cooking dinner together, and shares great travel tips. She genuinely tries to make every guest feel at home. She’ll even check in with you to see if you’d like to join activities, so even if you’re a bit shy, it feels very natural to connect with others here. The facilities are fairly basic, but they have everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, showers with a small changing space, and all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Make sure to share your travel plans with the owner—she’ll almost certainly give you great tips and might even suggest ways to save money!

“Very good”
The property is located next to bus station and train station which are very convenient for travellers. Toilets are clean, beds are warm. Also, the owners are friendly, accommodating and honest. She didn’t hesitate to help me during my tough times. Really appreciate it. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾

“Cosy little guesthouse near Tobu Nikko station. Great value for money.”
The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, they even gave me a ride to the onsen although no shuttle service was scheduled for that time. Also, great value for money.
