“Pleasant stay and beautiful journey”

I had a lovely journey and such a pleasant experience at this place. Immerse in nature, the lodge has an authentic atmosphere. Everything was delightful, staff was warm, friendly and welcoming. It was a great journey.

An amazing experience. The location is beautiful and the onsen is great. It is worth staying for 2 to 3 days minimum to relax and have some hiking in the mountains around the onsen.

The staff were wonderful and made our stay (thank you Kentaro, Aung, and April in particular!). The food was delicious and throught out, and the location offers such a magical experience in the winter.

Absolutely loved this place! One of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Wish we could have stayed more than 2 nights. As others have said, getting here is a bit of an adventure, but that’s also what makes it so special. The food was excellent, the outdoor onsen amazing! Highly recommend!!

“Cozy remote hotell with small flaws”

Hatcho No Yu is a very cozy small hotel up in the mountains. It was very nice inside and the onset was good. Our room was very nice and spacious with an amazing ceiling height.

“Stunning outdoor onsens and delicious food in a traditional setting”

Incredible location - but very remote!!! Leave plenty of time to get here by public transport, since the final bus to Meteobuchi only runs a few times per day (after which you can organise a shuttle bus to the hotel). The outdoor onsens were absolutely gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the traditional rooms were beautiful. Highly recommend more than one nights stay to make the trip worthwhile.

Amazing ryokan in Nikko National Park. Perfect location to totally disconnect from the world and just relax. Facilities were great, outside baths were amazing. Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Excellent food and great staff. A hidden gem. Would certainly visit again and recommend to friends.

Everything was perfect. Room warm and comfortable, staff was very accommodating and spoke brilliant english, dinner and breakfast were something out of this world. Baths are also exceptional and I was even gifted by the good weather to have an opportunity to bathe when it was snowing and then observe the starry sky. Location is fantastic.

This place is superb. It was the best sleep in 5 weeks in Japan, the outdoors private thermal bath was excellent, the food was beautiful, they accomadated me being vegetarian. The onsens were great, outdoor ones being hotter than indoors. The national park it's in is beautiful. The staff are amazing, just delightful.
