“Cozy Hotel next to the stunning Lake Chuzenji”

Very charming hotel with an immediate connection to Lake Chuzenji. The staff was very helpful and kind. The hotel facilities like the central fireplace or the coffee/tea lounge were cozy and inviting. The food at the restaurant was tremendous and very delicious. This is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing time far away from cities, with fantastic opportunities for trail hiking or relaxing in the onsen. I can highly recommend visiting outside of the usual summer season!

The serenity and quietness. Beautifull old building with a stunning view of Nantai Yama and Chuzenji Lake.

“A Very Comfortable Stay”

Breakfast was very good. Their egg dishes and sausages were very good, and the morning coffee was above expectations. The spas were the convenient to use, and the outdoor spa was also satisfying. The second floor tea room is very charming and the furniture is very quaint in an old-European fashion. Make sure to use the shuttle bus that is available as it saves time. The timetable can be checked on the hotel’s website. Also, the staff are very warm and friendly, and are very helpful. I would like to stay at this hotel again if I were to visit Nikko in the future.

“Another day/night would have been better for us”

Dinner in the restaurant was superb; the onsen was superb; the room was huge and the staff were lovely. The location was excellent too.

Wester style onsen hotel near lake Chuzenji, very good service in the restaraunt, food was delicious. Onsen was wonderful, outside bath is also good. Rooms have a thermostat and central air heating, which is unusual in Japan.

Fourth time staying in this hotel. Good food and service as usual.

Beautiful and quiet location close to the lake. Calmer than the same Kanaya hotel in Nikko.

Great location, convenient to public buses for travelling around the area. The room with balcony was very comfortable. The front desk staff were most helpful. The onsen!

“I would like to stay more near the green silent and cozy forests.”

I like the environment which isolated wit the downtown. It has forest where I could walk alone and meditated without any human interaction. I could see the full moon from the lady outdoor onsen. Car parking is plenty.

This hotel is fantastic if you wish to get away from it all. The nature of the hotel is such that it is designed to be on the lake and away from the town so do know that there isn't much around this hotel. The on site onsen is actually really nice and was wonderful way to end or start the day.

Onsen was lovely (although had to go outside to use it), meals were delicious

I regret not having a car to get around. Also most of the restaurants and stores close early.
