Overview
About a 20-minute walk from the Nikko shrines, Annex Turtle Hotori-An is situated next to the Daiya river and green forests. It features hot spring baths with river views. Only 1.5 km from the Toshogu and Futarasan shrines at Nikko, Hotori-An Turtle Annex Hotel also offers easy access to local hiking trails. A 40-minute drive brings guests to historical theme park Nikko Edomura. The Japanese-style rooms feature tatami (woven straw) floors and traditional futon beds. Each room includes a private bathroom. Turtle Annex Hotori-An features a gallery showing local Mashiko-yaki pottery. English-speaking staff are available to help with sightseeing. Breakfast features fruit, eggs and bread. We stayed in the traditional room which we loved and the view from the window was so beautiful. The atmosphere in the hotel was so calm and cozy. The staff were exceptional. The onsen was a bonus but really the setting could not have been better. I would love to return.

It was in a beautiful nature setting, an easy 20 minute walk to the town and famous temples and shrines. There were also restaurants nearby with local fare.

“Great”
Location is amazing, peaceful place in a nice environment. There is a private onsen, you can use it with the view on the river. Free water and tea. Helpfull and sweet people

“Relaxing stay”
Situated by a lovely stream, it was a secluded and relaxing stay for us - all within walking distance of the key Nikko attractions. We loved the lady who ran the hotel who kindly gave lots of recommendations and the Onsen was fun and appreciated it being private.

“Fine hotel, inconvenient location”
The Japenese style room was nice! And the onsen reservation system worked fine for us (onsen was nice!). Hotel was overall fine - you get what you pay for

“warm and cosy autumn stay !”
the onsen was amazing and the room itself was so cute and cosy, the gentleman at the front desk was so lovely too !! The walking trial nearby was also very pleasant

“Can only recommend the place”
The owners were super nice and helpful :) we stayed in a traditional room, which was a nice change for us - everything was super clean and we could use the private onsen every time we wanted. The onsen is used by the whole hotel but the sessions are private with a maximum duration of 30 min. Before gong there I was a little worried about my tattoos but since you use the onsen privately, it didn't matter :) it was really a great experience
