The 2 gentlemen that greeted us and got us settled into our room were excellent. The location of Melville house is perfect, it is within walking distance to everything we wanted to do.

The property management company owns several historical homes on this lovely and quaint street. We had reserved a small room in the Melville house but when we arrived they offered to upgrade us to a larger room if we checked in alittle later, which we did. The room they offered was in another of their homes on the street and it was absolutely beautiful. Large king size bed and a bathroom with two vanity sinks. They were thoughtful to offer a black colored "Make-Up" towel for those who need one. My husband and I had to leave at 6am the next morning and the guest keeper, a gentlemen whom I did not get his name, greeted us with hot and fresh coffee at 6am. How wonderful is that. We filled our thermos and slipped out quietly to not wake up the other guests. The parking was located behind the building and our car was easily accessible. We are definitely coming back next year. Thank-you the wonderful team at Melville House and see you next year!

Host was very accommodating and pleasant! He gave us an upgrade because he thought it would make our stay extra pleasant. He was right!

Anyone can receive a good rating when all goes well. It is a special host who can turn around a bad situation. We were advised upon arrival that booking.com had a glitch and our reservation was not received even though we had a cancellation. Rick provided a list of other hotels with vacancies. Additionally he offered us parking and breakfast. We took advantage of the former which saved us parking fees. Additionally, he drove us to our dinner in town. He was apologetic and accommodating. Next time we will call him directly to book.
