Overview
Set within a former Gentlemen's Club, YHA Newcastle Beach has retained heritage features including a communal lounge area with a fireplace, wood panelling and leather sofas. The property is set opposite Newcastle Beach and is 50m from Newcastle Beach Tram stop. Catch the tram from the Greyhound bus stop at the Newcastle Interchange to Newcastle Beach. This hostel boasts a terrace with BBQ facilities, a large shared kitchen and a games room with table tennis and a billiards table. Guests have free use of surfboards and bodyboards. The hostel also offers a tour desk and laundry facilities. Both dormitory rooms and private rooms are available. All offer access to shared bathroom facilities. Each room has a fan, and includes bed linen. Free bikes and surfboards are available for hire

really good location. Enough space to store things in the fridge. Lockers were big and you had the option to charge electronics inside. Staff was nice and you got a lot of tips on what to do in the area. Also offered free luggage storage

Great cultural experience, community area has that ‘old pub’ vibe that I really enjoyed. Finding a quiet corner, reading a book and hearing people from all over the world was great. Being so close to the beach also was a plus.

The people working there are super nice. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, there’s free surfboards and bikes to use, plenty of communal spaces, friendly people staying, super clean. It’s 2 minutes away from the beach. Great place to stay.

Excellent location, right by the beach! Staff were friendly and there was also option to use the surfboards and bicycles for free! Has a full kitchen, clean with plenty of utensils available, and a lovely social/lounge area with pool tables and other activities.

“Budget and staff friendly, short walk to beach.”
Budget friendly, staff friendly, access to good kitchen, dining and lounge area. Was able to park out front. Bed comfy. Shared shower / toilet +clean. Felt safe. Short walk to beach. Lively space Beautiful old two story building amazing staircase. Could get single private room.
