The cottages at Oualie Beach Resort are pretty much a stones throw from the sandy beach which for me, was perfect. Swimming in the bay at Oualie is great, there is an area marked out away from the moored boats for swimming and the water is clear and clean. Loungers are available for resort guests to use on site, hammocks also are strung up under trees to relax in. The cottage I stayed in had great air con, was comfortable, bright and clean. I could open the windows if needed and not worry about midges or flies as there were nets in place as well. The cottage I stayed in had a midge proof porched area with chairs and a drying line - great for hanging out wet swim stuff and towels and sitting in to watch the sun go down. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful and always had tme for a chat. There is good choice of meals available to purchase from the onsite restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hot food is cooked to order and did not disappoint. There is also a bar that had live music in the evening whilst I was there. There are restaurants within walking distance of the resort (in daylight) otherwise just a short taxi ride away if you don't have a vehicle / it's dark. There are also regular water taxis to St Kitts. Oualie is a lovely place to come and stay to unwind and enjoy a relaxed pace of life. The resort is also a great base to explore the rest of Nevis from. I would totally recommend.

Large room with great view around the little bay and over the sea to St Kitts large veranda enclosed in mosquito net panels was great. WiFi in the room ok. Rustic and basic with no extra facilities. Fridge and coffee machine in room and you can ask for a kettle. Taxi and boat from St.Kitts airport to resort $65 US cash needed arranged by resort.

The beachside location is fantastic and the whole place is very laid back Caribbean style. We had a lovely large room with sea views and enjoyed seeing the boats coming in and out from the beach.

This is a beautiful, local gem. If you want the big resort experience this is not for you. If you want to be steps from the beach, to meet the people of Nevis and experience an island that is not touristy, then this is for you.
