A stunning villa overlooking the Maha Oya river, with a beautiful pool and an atmosphere that stays with you. The rooms are immaculate, spotlessly clean and luxurious, with thoughtful attention to every detail. What truly made it special, though, was the hospitality. As we had an evening flight, they kindly allowed us a late check-out, and we happily spent extra hours in this peaceful haven with no rush at all. We were also lucky enough to speak with the owner, who was moved to tears telling us about his love for this project, for Sri Lanka, and for his staff, whom he considers true family — and you feel that warmth throughout the stay. A special thank you goes to Harsha, who looked after us perfectly from start to finish, but the entire staff was kind and attentive. We also tried the massage, which was excellent, and the meals — both breakfast and dinner — were delicious. A place we recommend with all our heart. We will definitely be back.

The property was neat, clean and comfortable. The staff were younger family members of the hosts and were helpful and accommodating given our late arrival to the property.

The room set up with personal pool and seating area was lovely . Quirky bathroom with fish pedicure pool and great shower.Also wife really enjoyed having a fantastic preflight massage in room and lucky enough to see the fruit bats flying overhead whilst we had our dinner.

Wonderful staff who were very helpful and kind. Brilliant English also. Nice breakfast and pool was nice and clean. Good location where you can look over the river and see birds during the day and bats at night.

We loved the fact we had an individual pool attached to our room with a nice seating area as well as the hotel’s beautiful grounds. The bed was super comfy and the size room was ample. The bathroom was very large and had a wonderful shower. Well-equipped with natural and beautifully smelling toiletries. We really enjoyed the evening river trip where we got our first taste of the renowned Sri Lanka wildlife, and there were also lots of birds around the hotel. We also liked the freshly ground coffee provided in the room – a really nice touch.

Everything was perfect here, location was nice and peaceful and we did a little boat trip along the river with lovely and knowledgeable staff. Food and drinks were good and the room was very nice! :)

Food is excellent, staff cheerful, great room and bathroom in the Elephant Villa. Snake in the bathroom was dealt with efficiently, though it took 6 staff but all cheerfully and snake let outside to live, so all ended well.
