The accommodation was very nice, the staff extremely friendly, and the location in a quieter area was also very good.

After our tour of Sri Lanka, we spent the last three days at the beautifully designed Villa Araliya. The advantages of this accommodation include: peace and quiet, a pleasant pool with sun loungers, very friendly and helpful staff, complimentary bottled drinking water from the filter system, pet-friendly (there's a dog and a few cats), each room has its own seating area as a terrace or balcony, a five-minute walk to Negombo beach, and excellent vegetarian rice and curry. We spent some very relaxing days here and can't imagine a better place to end our vacation.

The team working here are amazing. The night watchman made us feel so safe and cared for. Lula the dog is an icon and we miss her already. It’s close to the beach but a quiet, peaceful location.

The place is unique in its kind. It is designed and build by the owner himself and resulted in a rustique architecture with teak wood and stone. The swimmingpool is so relaxing and peaceful. You can stay here for weeks. Finally the home made food is delicious and the staff is highly qualified and friendly. I curtainly will recommend this place.

We really enjoyed and like this place. It is the only one, therefore, that we decided to visit twice, and it is where we created our last vacation memories of Sri Lanka, just to make sure they are the best ones to leave with. I rarely give top scores, but this our home away from home does warrant it for me. Location: In a quiet part of Negombo. Close enough to the airport for an easy commute by TukTuk or car, yet far enough not to hear the planes the whole time. Walking distance (260m) to the beach, where you will also find several restaurants. In the same area also several shops. Comfort: The property offers both privacy/security and space. It is well maintained. Each accommodation unit is uniquely different, built in traditional style but with quality, and they all have enough space, good airco and vents, comfortable beds (with nets), as well as functional bathrooms (some with bath tub). The outdoor pool is clear, good size and really pleasant at all times of the day and evening. The beds around the pool are nice, there is some shades, and your unit comes with large pool towels. The place is very peaceful. Three cats and a dog, all lovely, add to the homey atmosphere. The library in the reception area is quite rich and diverse. Staff: Modest, competent and always readily available. They have all been working here for many years (very different from most other places that we stayed at), which is a compliment to management and also reflects the pleasure of working in a nice place, which they keep and treat as their own. Food and drink: We consistently had the best breakfast of our trip: high quality fruit, excellent coffee, pancakes, coconut roti (!), eggs and toast. Talk to Asanta, because he is a formidable cook and is very helpful to find some variation for you.

Villa Araliya is charming and authentic. Staff made me feel like a privileged family member. The pristine pool, the resident pets, the delicious food - I was happy just to hang out there, and I will again. Absolutely the best coconut rotis in all my travels.

I stayed for the last night of a two week holiday and really appreciated the way the Villa was laid out, the vibe of the accommodation (four poster bed, wooden furniture), the location on a quiet street and the super friendly and helpful team running the place.

The villa complex was very attractive, the pool was lovely, the staff were friendly and super helpful, the location was quiet but not far from the beach and restaurants, the vegetarian food was excellent.

Villa Araliya is a beautiful small complex of rooms and suites straight off the pages of a style magazine. Elegant but welcoming with polished concrete, white pillars and dark wood, We were upgraded to a suite and it was amazing, huge rooms with high vaulted ceilings and a king sized bed. even the standard rooms look like a boutique hotel. Very good ceiling fan and a quiet and effective air con. The staff were all super helpful and friendly. The Villa is a 5 minute walk to the beach and there were a couple of beach bars and a beach restaurant we visited. We also had curry and rice at Araliya which was yummy as was the wine. The pool is perfect - the photos do not do it justice. And they had adopted a puppy abandoned on their doorstep - lovely people cute puppy.
