“Great breakfast near the river!”
We had a very nice stay at Serendib guest house. We only stayed for one night. The owner was really nice. The room was clean and the airco working good. The breakfast was sublime, next to a river with lots of wildlife. Close to good restaurants and the beach. Nuwan, the very well English speaking driver and brother of the owner, drove us from the airport to the guest house, explaining all about Sri Lanka and Negombo. The next day we went on a city tour with him and he also drove us to Wilpattu, with a lot of stops along the way.

“Helpful Staff and Management”
There was a problem with hot water in the room I booked so the management arranged other room in a nearby hotel for me. A very well mannered driver picked me up from the Airport and took me to that hotel. Next morning they sent a car for me to take me to the Serendeep Guest house for breakfast and it was good on the bank of a canal. I made payment and then driver sent me back again to the same hotel. So I am very thankful to the Serendeep Guest house management for their help and support.

“A nice family run place to start in Sri Lanka”
It was a nice breakfast with a mix of traditional and international food. The hosts were very helpful with sorting airport pickup and flexible with us changing dates last minute. It was a nice pool and the room was large and clean. Staff were helpful recommending places to see and prices were should be paying for things.

“Perfect 1st booking after landing”
Beautiful and quiet place a few minutes away from Negombo beach. A little further out the city reachable in 10min TukTuk. Perfect to stay out of the busting of the city center with a lot of restaurants and shops accessible by walk. 10/10 would recommend for a redtful first step after landing in Sri Lanka or fly back home.

“Fantastic Staff”
The staff were welcoming and attentive throughout my stay. I had dietary requirements for breakfast, which were accommodated without any fuss, ensuring I still enjoyed a full, satisfying meal. On my second day, the team remembered my needs unprompted and offered even more variety, a lovely touch. When I accidentally dropped my phone in the river at breakfast, the staff sprang into action immediately to help rescue it, for which I was extremely grateful. They were also patient and helpful with my many questions. The room was exceptionally clean, though a little dated. It leans toward the budget end, but represents fantastic value for what is offered. There is also a pool on site, though I did not use it. The hotel is a little removed from the city centre, around an hour's walk (12/13 minutes by TukTuk), but there are plenty of restaurants nearby, so this was not an inconvenience.

The room was super spacious, the location great. The pool was lovely to swim in and so refreshing. Milinda the host was really kind and helpful, sorted my ride from the airport, a boat trip and I had a massage at a place he recommended and it was amazing.
