Negombo is a lovely first day in Sri Lanka to get your bearings. Hotel J was a great place to start. It’s a three-star hotel that is clean and well organised. (It was a holiday weekend and we did get woken by other guests playing music at 4am - but the staff were onto it quickly). It’s right on the beach and cheaper than some of the bigger hotels just up the road. Feels more like a locals stay. Was a great place. Another lovely point - it was my partner’s birthday on the day we arrived (I’d let them know ahead of time). And the presented us with a lovely birthday cake on arrival - complete with personalised birthday greeting. A lovely touch.

“Value for Money - Great Location”
Hotel J was Value for money. Comfy rooms and a good location (right in front of the beach) made my day. And also a very good breakfast the next day. I got Milk Rice, Sandwiches, Coffee, and Juice. Will come again.

“I stayed here for a few nights before a group tour and had the loveliest time.!”
The staff made me feel so welcome and nothing was too much - even accommodating my dietary requirements as much as possible. They really helped make my travel easy and comfortable. The pool area is lovely and relaxing, and it’s ideal for the airport or as place to stay before onward travel :) there’s also a rooftop bar for sunset!

“Nice place to stay”
Very nice hotel. The breakfast was good. WiFi and AC worked really well. We recomment this hotel. They offer water from a big tank. The boss was very nice and helpful.

“Three night stay in January 2026”
I stayed here at the start and end of an organised tour of Sri Lanka and both times were great. It was inexpensive, the rooms ideal for a bed and washroom, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the location is great with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The pool area is great to chill out, the food and drink options are a decent quality. Id recommend for a few nights of staying in Negomba.

Cozy and reasonably sized hotel on the beach. Good location considering the services in Negombo. Short drive to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was good and the views, service and staff from the rooftop bar were great.
