Stunning property and wonderfully peaceful. All the staff were so lovely, particularly the owner. The property is quite secluded but there were two very nice restaurants nearby if you wanted to venture out (Crab Cove and MAALU by AAYU).

We were warmly welcomed by our hosts even though we arrived towards midnight. The room was clean and the breakfasts outstanding. Isha also cooked us an evening meal and was most helpful with any need we had.

Excellent location handy for airport access. Right on lagoon so amazing views and breeze off waterfront. Very clean comfortable room with modern shower and good water pressure. Lovely balcony to sit and have a drink or meal. Food freshly cooked and tasty as well as good value. Staff very friendly and helpful. Wonderful oasis to start and finish our trip to Srilanka.

“Ideal airport right near hotel, perfect place to relax pre flight”

It was ideal fit the airport, an amazing restaurant just round the corner (you’ll need a tuk tuk 🛺) called Crab Cove. The hotel staff were lovely and bring round cups of tea randomly. They also order dinner in for you from another restaurant. The pool has the perfect view of the lagoon and perfect place to sunbathe and relax. We will stay again when we fly to Colombo.

Quiet location and helpful staff

We had a really wonderful stay. The owner was incredibly kind and understanding, which made us feel welcome from the very beginning. We arrived quite tired and decided to have dinner at the hotel – and it turned out to be such a good decision. The food was delicious, and they served it right in front of our room where there was a small table. We could sit there, relax, and enjoy the view over the lagoon. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. You can really tell that a lot of care goes into the place. Breakfast was also great and served on the balcony, which made it even more enjoyable. Overall, we felt very welcomed and taken care of. It was the perfect ending to our vacation.

Beautiful property with a view of the lagoon! The owner also is great cook, we had a fantastic seafood dinner and delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. Our flight was cancelled so we spent a night here and so glad that we did!

“Review of Hiru Lagoon”

The staff at Hiru Lagoon couldnt have been more friendly or helpful. The location of the hotel on the lagoon is lovely and you can see a lot of wildlife eg egrets, kingfishers, storks and pelicans. Food was great. Our room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is quite far out of town but tuk tuks are cheap and there is a nice local cafe called Bali. Id strongly recommend the lagoon tour the hotel organises. You see a lot of wildlife and the lagoon covers a huge area.

A beautiful little hotel tucked away down a quiet road. The hotel is positioned by a lagoon and so had stunning views, was really quiet and peaceful and had a lovely little pool and lush gardens. All the facilities were well thought out and spotless and the owner and staff were really helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here on your way to or from Colombo airport as it is so conveniently located for the airport.

Beautiful property and like being welcomed home. Definitely recommend to relax at start or end of trip to Sri Lanka at Hiru Lagoon. The rooms are immaculate and the food is delicious. Being out of the busy areas is peaceful and it is only a tuk-tuk away if you need.

What an amazing place to stay! We had 12 days here and enjoyed every minute. Close to the airport, many visitors stay for a night or two but I would recommend a longer stay. Negombo is a really interesting city and just a tuk tuk ride away from the peaceful, beautiful lake side retreat. The owner can’t do enough to help with organising trips and tours if you want to see more of the country. The food was amazing! Breakfast was different every day and always delicious. Evening meals are always available on request. The seafood platter with crab is to die for! The rooms and grounds are spotlessly clean and all the staff pride themselves on outstanding service. This place is too good to use as a stopover and should be enjoyed at your leisure. You can relax here and do as little or as much as you want. The pool is refreshing and clean and the gardens are wonderful. The owner helped set up the PICK ME app so getting around by tuk tuk was so easy and gave us the independence to get around and explore. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience that we will never forget.

“Calm oasis stop near the airport”

Serene accommodation on the banks of the lagoon. The place has 6 rooms. The small garden and pool with dappled shade was very welcome. The room was new, with great AC and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are served on the veranda outside your room. Both meals great - the homemade fish and crab curry and veg curry were both nicely balanced and better than others we've had. The lady owner and the staff were very friendly and really helpful. They coped well with our early morning arrival. You can use the pick me app to order a tuk tuk or car to get into central Negombo (500 to 1200 rupees). We much preferred staying here to the bustle in the town, but it depends on your preferences.

The outstanding attraction of this property is the hostess Isha. Her warmth and friendliness were the perfect welcome to Sri Lanka. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the room was very clean and comfortable. The property was quiet and peaceful, the meals were tasty and well presented.
