Each room at Posada Real La Casa de Arriba has rustic features such as beamed ceilings, original furnishings and exposed stone walls, all combined with modern finishes. The surrounding Sierra de Gredos Park is ideal for hiking, horse riding, fishing and cycling. We booked the self-contained cottage that is located adjacent to the hotel. The hotel was closed for the season so we sadly did not get to see the library, dining room, bar etc. But the cottage was excellent - large, very comfortably furnished with a wood burning fire place that I think is used in the colder months, clean and with a comfortable bed. There is a great view over the surrounding hills and the centre of the small town is only a couple of minutes walk away. The cottage is heated, which was appreciated as the temperature dropped to 4 degrees C overnight. We were there to walk and there are many excellent walking opportunities in the area. The nearby Parador (7 min drive way) provides the opportunity for finer dining if desired, although we cooked our own meals in the well provided kitchen. A great place to stay.

“Nice little flat in a stunning old stone house”
It's part of a gorgeous property with a lovely garden. The flat is well-organised. The fireplace worked really well, as did the (underfloor!) heating. It was nice to hang out in the afternoon and evening by the fire. The bed was quite small but comfy.
