Have stayed here before. General interior has been improved. Fantastic for birding with it's own hides, and for astrophotography on the large communal balcony. Very good optional typically Spanish breakfast. Lovely owners who speak some English. Overall I would recommend!!

The Hostal Almanzor is a small hotel run by a lovely friendly couple with an amazing knowledge of the natural environment, especially the birdlife. Anyone who enjoys bird watching or who would like a very reasonably priced hotel with easy car access to the Gredos Mountains for hill walking and to experience the magnificent scenery, should consider staying here. The breakfast was continental and home made and the owners very helpful in finding a local restaurant for us to eat, as their evening restaurant opens only during peak season in July and August.

A superb location amidst trees, quiet and peaceful in spite of being by a road. The hotel was very much catered for lovers of nature, which was perfect for us as we're keen wildlife enthusiasts - but didn't know about this aspect of the accommodation before arrival. The meals were excellent and the proprietors and staff very genial and informative. I thoroughly recommend this base to anyone seeking a tranquil escape from mainstream living.

The location was wonderful. In the foothills of the Gredos the sky was full of birds of prey and the garden had lots of informative signage about smaller birds to look out for. The breakfast was lovely with home made tomato puree and marmalade good bread. We will definately return if we visit the area again.

Amazing breakfast. Lots of (vegan/vegetarian) options for a nice dinner/lunch. Perfect space inside and outside to enjoy a meal or a drink. Waiters all understood/spoke English as well as the owners themselves. Really authentic converted finca with a good mix of the old, original elements and the newer commodities.

It's a beautiful hotel. Nice simple rooms with all you need. Bathroom well equipped, even hydro massage shower. the dinner tapas menu quite simply awesome
