Friendly, relaxed and good food

“If you are used to rustic affordable accommodation then you’ll be fine”

We are senior citizens and wanted an overnight stopover in Nata and read the reviews . It turned out to be exactly what we expected Rustic backpacker options and we chose a more comfortable two bed “chalet “ with own shower and toilet etc and were not disappointed The place is very easy going with a communal kitchen and brasi area with nice hosts and friendly foreigners of all ages passing through We would return again

We had a great time at Eselbe Camp. The host is very nice, the dinner was good and the atmosfere is cool. I would definetly recommend a trip to the bird sanctuary (can be arranged at Eselbe). This was amazing.

Eselbe Camp is the destination in itself. The atmosphere is amazing and you can’t help but stay just one more day. Rubert makes it feels like a home and takes so good care of his guest. We had such comfy nights around the bonfire all together. I will definitely be back.

“Amazing place”

Fantastic place. Quiet location on the river, well designed and cared for, lots of comfy communal spaces to hang out at, great kitchen with all appliances, the bungalows and tents that are spacious, clean and super comfortable (great quality mattresses!!), big bathrooms airy hot shower, fast internet, river with free canoes. The best part is Rupert and the team. They will look after you as family. My only regret was leaving - I could easily see myself staying for a week or two.

The friendliest and down to earth owner of any place that we have stayed. Its a backpackers lodge so it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but our my family it is one of our favourite places in the world. Best value for money, best atmosphere, perfect location and amazing people.

Very good location, and beautiful next to the river. Affordable and all basic needs are met. Friendly staff. Will make sure that we arrange for dinner next time! Sad we missed out. It sounded amazing.

The people were friendly and there was a great mix of people. The food was good , it is a backpackers camp and more basic place but I loved the eco and permaculture approach.

Very cozy. Excellent staff. Backpacker place, so guests were friendly and welcoming. If you look for a 5 star hotel this is not the place. However it was clean, good self catering options.
