“Very basic room with no amenities, no view , in good location”

No breakfast , very basic room with no amenities. Room with no view , felt closed in, no safe box. Bathroom very run down with barely any space for toileteries. Really steep rickety stairs to climb up and down. Only the aircon was working well. Gili was helpful.

Good location, walking distance to downtown area & also Value super market for groceries.

Very good location just 2 minutes away from the beach and 5 minutes from downtown. Host is excellent and is always looking to help out and make your stay pleasant. The apartment was very clean and had everything you might need.

“When I arrived the property manager said they overbooked and therefore no room for me”

I booked this apartment for 4 nights as a solo female traveller. When I arrived at the property I was met by the property manager who asked for my name and when I told him, I was standing waiting for a bit while he went off and he eventually told me to come and told me they had double booked and therefore no room for me to stay. However instead of being informed about this before leaving my country of departure so I can sort another alternative in a timeline manner instead I was sent the instruction of how to get into the property etc the day before my arrival only for me to arrive, put the code in to enter the gate and be told there was no room for me to stay. I was a solo female traveller, arrived late evening and it was my first time in the Bahamas. I then had to find another hotel locally which cost way more when in fact I had booked the villa well ahead of time. Very disappointing because this should never happened where a guest is unable to stay as a result of overbooking. When I checked in to the hotel I eventually stayed I was informed by front desk this is a regular occurrence.

The location is very good, just few steps from Junkanoo beach, few restaurants, MsDonalds and touristics places are around. The host is very helphul and polite. The beds are comfortable. It is a storage in the garden for the luggage.

Quiet and close to everything

“A quiet, compact, clean room - A place to sleep and make breakfast”

Villa by the Bay was a fairly new building and a good place to stay if you wanted walking access to downtown, restaurants, beach, etc. It was a quiet, compact, clean room, adequate to sleep in, watch tv and make breakfast, which is what we did. There are more spacious places to stay at a better price inland, if you have transport. The natives are quite friendly and we were surprised not to encounter any beggers or hustlers when we took a walk. It felt safe. Out the gate and turn right - there is a little streetside cookshop a couple hundred or so yards (meters) up on the left that sells tasty inexpensive local meals. A bit further and you will find a supermarket. Our family that we were visiting drove us around showing us the sights.

Very nice place. It’s clean and very close to pretty much everything. It’s a walking distance from the beach, downtown, and some of the main attractions in Nassau. We stayed 3 nights and it was a perfect little spot.

I loved how Gillies provided links for places to eat and where to go. We also appreciated the location. Great walking distance from most everything. We felt very welcome. Thank you.

A nice apartment with all facilities you need for a stay. The apartment includes two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen and a living room. The apartment was clean and all facilities were in good condition. The area is very quite, though close to the city center of Nassau.

This stay exceeded my expectations. Gillz was very hospitable and helping. It was easy to communicate with him as he responded promptly. This property is literally in the center of everything. We walked to all of the places that are listed on "tours" such as Tasty Teas, John Watling Distillery, Graycliff, Straw Market, Rum Cake Factory, etc. The beach is at the stop sign. There is an atv/scooter rental place not even half of a mile away as well. There is also a bus stop nearby where you can catch the 12B bus back to the airport for $2.75. Gillz went out of his way to drop us off at some locations, which he did not have to. He also gifted me with Guava Duff(desert) for my birthday. We really appreciated his kind gestures. The property is quiet, peaceful and secured with a gated fence. The only thing I would suggest is to increase shower temperature. I would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa By The Bay. It was well worth the money we spent. We booked our stay last minute after staying at two accommodations previously that had turned out to be nightmares. The host, Gillz, was very professional, helpful and courteous. He assisted us by transporting us to a local convenience store for groceries upon our arrival and advised us promptly whenever we had any questions. The unit was similar to a loft but it was not cramped at all. It was very clean and the window above the bed was a nice touch. There was a barber and beauty salon on property which was convenient. There was no noise disturbance on the property itself, however, there was some noise from the nearby street which was expected as its very close to the downtown area. We rarely heard anything, though, as we usually had the a/c and television on and we spent most of the day out and about. I would recommend Villa By The Bay to anyone looking to stay in a nice place close to the downtown area without having to spend a fortune.
