Overview
Just in front of the scenic Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple, Wakamatsu Honten is a charming local property featuring large public baths and non-smoking Japanese-style rooms with free WiFi. A free shuttle is offered daily to/from Narita Station, upon advance reservation. The ryokan also houses a souvenir shop and coin-operated laundry facilities. Decorated in a traditional Japanese style, all rooms come with a futon bedding, a seating area and green tea sets. A flat-screen TV and personal safe are also included, as well as yukata robes. Bathrooms are either shared or private, depending on the room type booked. All rooms are non-smoking. Wakamatsu Honten is a 15-minute drive from Narita International Airport and an 8-minute drive from Aeon Mall Narita. The Museum of Aeronautical Sciences is a 20-minute drive away. It is a 50-minute drive from Tokyo Disney Resort. For breakfast, the property offers a Japanese set menu. A Kaiseki dinner (Japanese special set) is available with advance reservation, and can be enjoyed in the shared dining room or in guests' private room. Guests can relax at the indoor public baths, which are gender-separated and operate from 15:00 - 10:00 daily. Luggage can be stored at the front office. Free WiFi is available at the lobby, as well as in the rooms.

“Traditional Japanese style”
I highly recommend having both dinner and breakfast here. The meals were beautifully prepared, and you can enjoy a truly traditional Japanese dining experience.

“A restorative stay after a long flight.”
I had a great stay after a long flight from Melbourne, before taking a morning flight to Nagoya. I arrived in the evening - a taxi from Narita station is only 600 yen -just in time for a very delicious dinner and I was able to take a bath. The ryokan is located opposite the temple so I was pleasantly woken by the sound of the monks’ prayers and drums. I was able to take a short walk and visit the temple before the shojin ryori ( Buddhist vegetarian) breakfast, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Alas it was time to take the shuttle back to the station!

How well preserved are the traditions, aligned with the city of Narita. It is also extremely well located just in front of Naritasan Shinsho-ji Temple.

Older ryokan, with tatami rooms and shared onsen. Outstanding kaiseki set meal dinner and breakfast. Splendid location, directly across the road from Narita-san temple with a beautiful park: open 24 hours, great for a jet-lag-clearing wander.

It felt authentic and loved the phamplet about its history. Complimentary cookie was a nice touch. Sleeping was comfortable. Free to use umbrellas that felt EXPENSIVE. Very nice service from the staff. They can hold your luggage if you arrive too early. Your luggage gets delivered to your room if it gets ready earlier than you arrive back, what a nice touch. The look out of our room looked absolutely stunning though
