It was worth spending extra to have a Japanese style room with a private onsen. Room was spacious and very clean. Loved the kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast. Variety of food was amazing and very tasty. 100% recommend a stay here at this hotel. The hotel has its own gift shop and free shuttle to train station.

“Wonderful hotel with an authentic Nara feel”

The room was comfortable, even for three people (in a nominally double room), with a nice bath and shower in the unit bathroom. There was a good selection of amenities, and yukata and slippers to wear to dinner. The food, dinner and breakfast, was excellent, with a breakfast buffet offering both Western and Japanese food and many different drinks. The kaiseki dinner was as amazingly presented as it tasted, and featured local specialties from local ingredients. The staff were always helpful, even when the slight language barrier made things harder. There was a shuttle bus to the nearest station (Yamato-Saidaiji), an outdoor onsen and an observation deck on the roof with views over the nearby archaeological park.

The included meals were exceptional. As a western family we really enjoyed the onsen experience. Our room did not include a bathroom so the shared onsen was compulsory! A great cultural experience.

Great place to enjoy kaiseki and onsens. We got the room with an in-room onsen too, which was great. Late at night we decided that we wanted to add a futon (instead of sleeping with the Western style beds) and they helped us with no problem.

“Wonderful hotel”

My room was fabulous, with my own onsen bath, on the balcony overlooking Nara's ancient imperial palace site. The staff excelled themselves with their helpfulness, and dinner was fantastic, despite my lack of chopsticks skills!

The private bath in the room was really lovely and the included dinner was delicious.

It's exactly what to expect from a Japanese Onsen Hotel. It was the experience I was looking for, for my visiting relatives. Good service, nice small onsen, nice diner, nice breakfast.

Very comfortable, traditional Ryokan. Welcoming staff, excellent food and comfortable rooms. A little way out of Nara but all the main sites were easily accessible and public transport within 10-15 minutes walk. I would definitely recommend.

“A lovely experience”

The pick your own kimono station at reception was great! We ordered a kaiseki dinner, which they were able to adapt to our dietary requirements. Drinks were reasonably priced, so we didn't feel like we were being ripped off having something to go with our dinner. Breakfast was varied and genuinely nice for a buffet, mainly japanese cuisine, which suited us! The private onsen was lovely (and we could see a temple in the distance,though we also could see the hotel car park.)

“Mixed feelings”

The onsen was nice and is open until midnight. Dinner was quite nice if a little unusual. Breakfast was a buffet ('viking' or "bai-kingu" as it's called in Japan) with lots of variety. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were lovely and tolerated my terrible rusty Japanese. The bedding was comfortable. The sweets and green tea in the room. The shuttle bus to the nearest station.

“Great stay, great onsen and very helpful staffs”

In an excellent location with a nice view and in a tranquil area. The Onsen is great. However, if you have tattoos, you must have them covered before getting in. I would have used the Onsen at least 3-4 times but because of this rule, I only did it once.

Our Ryokan experience was impeccable!!! from the service, food and facilities, everything was beyond my expectation.. The staffs are very nice and respectful! I highly recommend this hotel!
