EVERYTHING!! Hilo-san and Nagi-san (the owners) are truly the sweetest, most hospitable people you’ll ever meet. It’s clean, quiet and has the perfect location - what more could you want?

This hostel had a quaint and homely feel about it. The owners were lovely and friendly, greeted you with a smile, they made you feel welcome and as if you were apart of their family. I felt like I was staying at home not at a hostel 😍 The place was also very clean and close to the station and buses to reach Nara park. Many restaurants are nearby😊

Short, but very pleasant stay! Very welcoming and helpful owners, place is small, but with everything you need and in a perfect location to explore Nara. Would definitely come back.

I stayed for three nights, but I could have stayed for a month. The staff were very kind, and the rooms and bathroom were clean. I loved the shower, especially after walking all day. The common area has everything you need to relax and prepare breakfast or a meal. The location is also very good. If I come back to Nara, I will most likely stay here again.

Great location, just up from the bus/train station. Clean and cosy communal area. Cooking facilities available. Beds comfortable, with privacy curtain. Showers great.

“An excellent guest house”

First of all，the location of the guest house is wonderful．It is a 3-minute walk from the Nara JR station, and a 10-minute walk to the Nara Park. There are many restaurants and a supermarket nearby. Second, the staff is very kind and friendly, and can provide the guests with useful information which is not written in the guidebooks. In addition, the owner, Hillo-san's talk is very interesting. Third, this cosy guest house has been very well maintained. Finally, you can communicate with many people who are from different countries, which is exciting. I love the Hillo guest house.

“Comfortable and Value for money place to stay.”

Hilo san and wife are friendly and helpful. The whole hostel is so well organized, clean and it has all the essential stuff to make our stay comfortable. The location is excellent where it is near to the JR Station and bus terminal and within walking distance to Kintetsu station as well. The hostel is located on the main road hence making it easy to find.
